I work at a restaurant as carryout and most people leave a dollar or two tip. If you get an order that is more than 30 dollars, usually you would leave 3-4 dollars.

At a buffet you would leave like 2-3 dollars because everything is usually included unless otherwise said.

Traditionally It Is A Good Idea To Tip The Waiter/Waitress Who Serve You When Dining @ Their Restaurant. This Gesture Always Leads To A Better Service The Next Time You Visit The Same Place, This IS A Tried A Tested Theory On 6 Different Places Serving 6 Different Cuisines. When U Take A Carry Out I Don't Think Its Really Necessary, at the same time if its home delivered its better if you tip them.

You should tip for carryout! Especially if you have a big order, you know someone (usually the bartender) has to get that order all put together!

And you should tip 10% for buffet service.

Some of you are so CHEAP!

Unless there is a specific policy by the restaraunt or delivery service against it, YES, you should tip.

I delivered pizzas for quite some time, and was paid 85% of minimum wage plus I got a small mileage allowance and was allowed to keep my tips. The idea was to have the collection of tips make up for the difference between minimum wage and what my base salary was. This is very common in the service industry and is completely legal.

Generally, you should provide a 15% tip. If you were unhappy with the service, you should still cover the tip, but also complain to management. Believe me, the server will hear about it.

If the service was good, or if you live more than 3 miles from the origin of the delivery, a 20% to 25% tip is more in order.

Most buffets say not to leave a tip, however I usually leave a tip for the carryout. They usually end up splitting the tip anyway at the end of the shift. I don't leave a huge tip, just enough to say thank you for packing up my food for me!

I don't tip when I get carryout but in a buffet sometimes the waiter does actually help you out so it depends on the situation...

I tip at buffets, as they do provide some services(like removing dirty plates or refilling your soda). But since they don't provide as many services as a traditional order-from-a-menu eatery, I tip a lower percentage at a buffet. (10-15% at a buffet vs.20-25% at a menu-order restaurant). And as for carryout- no, I don't tip.

I used to work at a buffet. I made over minimum wage (I'm not talking server's minimum, I mean normal minimum). We did not expect tips. So now, unless my son leaves a huge mess which he's outgrowing that stage, I do not tip.

I also do not tip carryout, they didn't exactly do anything special
