I've never met a genius. Is there a who's who book of some kind that lists people who achieve the genius status? I'm a high school dropout. No special book for guys like me (and I'm glad of it).

I did ok in English and Math, but my stepmother decided she didn't want to do the parenthood thing anymore, so she told me to leave the house. That brought about the end of my schooling--during my sophomore year in highschool.

I wasn't a bad kid, but suddenly found myself on the streets. After a while, I decided to join the military to guarantee myself meals and a place to sleep. Got special approval to do so at age 17. Military normally requires that you be at least 18 years of age. While in the military, passed the high school GED exam, but wasn't allowed to receive the diploma until my high school class graduated (a couple years later).

After I left the military (4 year stint), I took a few college courses and got A's but for some reason didn't accomplish much in the area of education. Looking back on it (I'm retired now) I suspect getting an education just wasn't in the cards for me.

Never got an important job, never made much money, but somehow made it to the point where I don't have to work anymore and I'm financially secure. All of this without my having really done any big time retirement planning. And by financially secure, I mean the money coming in (which is solely from my pension, social security benefits, and interest from savings) is equivalent to more than 3 times what I need. I don't spend much, but I don't deprive myself either, and I certainly don't worry about having enough money to make it each year.

To net it out, maybe my best subject (not studied in school) is good old luck. In spite of my misfortune (booted out of the house), lack of education, low paying jobs, lack of retirement planning, I feel pretty lucky. Err, I don't only feel pretty lucky, I actually am pretty lucky.

I leaned towards the sciences also. On the other hand, I had a hard time with the higher level math courses.

without a doubt,literature!!!!
i loved shakespeare txts most especially(twelfth night for example and the merchant of venice). However, what captivated me the most,i think, was the prose and poem genre.a poem which has struck closest to my heart remains,"we have come home"by lenrie peters.and for the prose,"the beautyful ones are not yet born"by Ayi kwei Armah.
its been four years since i graduated from secondary school and moved on to study law,but literature still burns bright in my heart as my first love!!!!!

English. My spelling and grammer can be bad but my imagination is what give me my marks, through essays and so forth. Enjoyed History as well since I have curious nature.
