In order to sustain faith a person needs a personal relationship with god which depends on seeking God in his word and in prayer. This will help you to understand God and his purpose in your life it does not assure you that all will be perfect in your everyday life but will provide confidence that God is there for you and that there is a purpose for what you are going through. The only help I can provide you is this and that you are in my prayers and that God is there with you through it all.many times we recive trials to reveal to us our need to bring things to God and to reveal to us that we have placed things out of order and that we need to place God first in our lives. Seek first the kingdom of God then these other things can be added to you.

The best way to believe someone exists is to meet him. I am not being smart here. What I mean is talk to him, tell him exactly what you have told us - with the same kind of wording: "God, I don't know if I can really believe in you. I've gone through too much %%% (You can say the words when alone with Him - He knows you are thinking them anyway). "I'm taking too much all the time. You aren't listening to me. What's going on? Are you just a myth? Or do you think it's funny what I'm going through, and you're just laughing at me? I need your help, show me you are there..." Express all the anger and bitterness you feel. Be real when you talk to Him. take your time. That's what He wants.
A few years ago I had the impression I was going through Hell on earth - at least, one of my children really seemed to be going through that. Month, I observed him suffering, and suffered with him. One day something happened - it was the proverbial straw that broke the camel's back. I just couldn't take it any more. I got up from where I was and went into a room, shut the door, and just glared upward, shaking my fists in absolute fury. I said, "Do you think this is funny?" I immediately had the sensation of God folding His arms around me, holding me, weeping with me. The suffering continued a couple more years, but I really felt I was not alone. That He really does care, that He is there for me and for my son.
I don't know if that helps. I wish I could be there with you and be a sounding board for you, it is terrible to suffer alone, especially when you get the sensation that God is not there for you.
But He is there for you. that's all I can say.
I could give you a lot of Bible verses here, and preach you a sermon while I'm at it, but I don't think that's really what you need right now.
May God bless you!

When we go through hardship, and believe me we all do, this is the time God is testing our faith. Just like the poem " footprints in the sand " when you see only one set of prints in life, that is when Jesus is carrying us. Don't loose your faith. Take your trials in your life and make them your testimony for someone else. I believe that we are put through bad times so we can become strong, because when you talk to someone else about a problem you were able to get through with the help of the Lord, your message is loud and clear to someone else. example is I lost both my parents when i was young, now when i talk to others who are going through the same thing you have their attention because you been there. It wouldn't be as affective if someone tried to give advise that has never been there before. God will send you many people for you to share your tribulations with later on then you will truly become God's expression on this earth when you tell that person about your faith. Good Luck and God Bless

So basically you want to believe because you like the idea that someone is taking care of you and you miss the comfort of that. You know, God as surrogate parent. Or the ultimate imaginary friend.
The ideas that you have about god aren't working for you any more. That's fine. It's time for you to find some that do, something that is more about a grown-up relationship with yourself and the world. No one is going to save you or make your life easy. You have more power and control than you realise, time to stop giving it away.

You know, so many of us go through horrible situations and have these same thoughts and feelings. Life is hard. God never promised it would be easy. It was in the beginning. He gave us a beautiful world, but we, having free will, screwed that up. We disobeyed. God is not there to make your life easy. He is there to talk to, if you want him. He's there to comfort you, if you ask. The Bible tells us that we have to seek him out and he will come closer. Seeking him out doesn't mean going to church occasionally, praying before meals and at bedtime. It doesn't mean only praying when life is hard. God is our(forgive me here) dad. He loves us and wants us to be happy, but he has to let us make our own mistakes, just like our earthly dad. He doesn't want us to cuss, just like our earthly dad should feel,(see your above asterisks) God wants us to talk to him every day, when we are doing dishes, when we are driving down the road. He wants to know when you are happy too, when you are sad. Don't you think he gets lonely? That's why he created us in the first place. He doesn't want us to just talk to him when life is going bad. He WILL draw closer to you, but you have to go to him too. You have to read the Bible. That's how he talks to us most of the time. He'll show you the verses you need to read. Give him a chance.

have u ever read the poem, footprints in the sand? I am not a deeply religous person, but I believe that when times are the lowest of the low for you...God is with you, you just can's see him or tell that he is with you. Everyone has hard times in during there life at some time, but at the end there is always good. Whether that be in this life or the one after this life.
While you are having these trouble, though, why don't you seek professional help? That can always help.

That's very normal. Everyone goes through it. God listens to you when you pray. The fact is sometimes our prayers are not answered the way we want them to be. It doesn't mean God does not care or isn't listening. It means He has a plan for your life that is better.
When you feel that way you should pray for revelation.

What makes you think God is the kind of being who can just dip down into the world and do whatever you think God needs to do? Maybe **** happens because people and things in the world can do their own thing and God can't stop them. Maybe the most God can do is appeal to people's consciences. Maybe we're God's hands in the world, and we can choose to do or not to do what God wants us to do. Maybe God doesn't sit on a cloud dishing out cancer and earthquakes. Maybe God is slowly making the world a place of beauty and peace and happiness, but God can only do it slowly, by persuasion and not by control.
Or maybe "God" is just our word for all the processes in the world that lead to the creation of beauty and meaning, and we just need to commit ourselves to working with those processes.
I mean, even if you doubt "God's" existence, you're just doubting some human ideas about God. You don't doubt the reality of goodness and kindness and mercy and beauty and truth, right? And you don't doubt the voice of your conscience that you should serve those things, right? And somewhere inside you, there's something that tells you those things will ultimately triumph over evil and cruelty and meaninglessness, right? So even in the midst of your doubt and your troubles, you have enough of "God" to hold on to to give you hope.
And as far as those troubles go, just remember that whoever "God" is, even if "God" isn't making or "allowing" troubles to come your way, it's still in your power to use those troubles as grist for your mill. You can still use them to learn, to become a better person. So instead of praying and saying "God, please do this for me," pray by saying, "God, I put myself in alignment with your purposes, to be a power in the world for your truth and your goodness and your mercy."
And don't lose hope.

well, first...just look around you...at all creation, pretty hard not to believe someone created this.
Then I have found that a lot of the @#$%$ that goes on in our lives is brought about as the consequence of our own actions. However, you may be going through things that aren't brought about by your actions, and if you are I am truly sorry. But through my own experience, I have been the ultimate cause of my own suffering, but I, with the help of God, have made many changes in my life, my lifestyle and my priorities, and now find much satisfaction and true happiness. But I had to conform my life to God's standards, not God's to mine!! He listens to those who are seeking to please him, and to know him. Call to him out of love for him and he will hear you. The Bible says: "draw close to God and he will draw close to you" (James 4:8) We can do that by really learning about God through His Word, the Bible. It is like a letter from God to us and through it we can get to know him and to draw close to him, but we have to make the first move...we draw close and then he draws close...

It sounds more like you don't have time for God. Simplify your life. Put away the TV. Read the Bible. Pray. Keep the ten commandments, including the Forth Commandment which is to keep the Sabbath Day Holy.
