Lots of times dreams or more symbolic than anything...but it is hard to quit smoking so I'd just talk to him or maybe look for clues to see if he's smoking like the smell on his clothes or his fingers will smell of it.

It's natural because at times, our dreams show us some of our anxieties and fears about life.
After my gf passed away, I had dreams of her come speak to me. While some more mystical people may say that this is her way of coming back to comfort me, and believe me I REALLY WANT TO BELIEVE THIS, it isn't. It's my mind trying to dull the pain or get you used to the anxiety.
I remember waking up feeling a little better, although sadder.
What does this have to do with you bf's smoking? Are you constantly on an endless obsessive hunt for evidence of his smoking? Has it become so much of an obsession that other issues in life are being paled in comparison? Smoking is bad, but making it the basis of a complete and healthy relationship is worse. Stop worrying about it. Get back to just you and him. The dreams will subside if you stop obsessing.

Classic anxiety dream. You're worried that your fears will turn into reality. When you wake up, remind yourself that the dreams are not true. Close you eyes and revisualize the dream, put yourself back into it and then CHANGE the storyline... use your imagination to create a better scenario...
for example: you catch him with a cigarette in his hand, but he wasn't smoking it, someone in a giant rabbit suit bounced up and asked him to hold it for a minute, the rabbit comes back and takes the cigarette, you and your boyfriend both laugh. Re-work the dream until the bad feeling goes away and you have a good happy feeling.
It's not *real*, but neither is the dream - the point is to get your subconscious feeling positive about the situation again.
best of luck and encouragement to your boyfriend in kicking the habit!

Cant help you on the dream issue. I can tell you this, though, if your boyfriend wants to quit smoking that is his decision and can only be made by him. I realize you want to help but I dont think pushing him or questioning him will make it any easier to quit. Trust me I know, I've quit several times and having people give constant pressure albeit well meant is really irritating.

You might be worried that he'll go back to it. If you guys are serious talk to him about these dreams. I had a dream that I harshly cheated on my boyfriend, like it was bad. But I talked to my boyfriend about it cuz it was really bugging and scaring me and he calmed me down and said he knew I wouldn't and knew that I trusted him and he trusted me. Go that route. Communication is key to any relationship! Hope that helps!

We dream what we fear. Just tell him about your dreams and make sure you're supporting him through that! I wish my b/f would stop smoking! Tell him good job.

You're dreaming it probably out of your own concern and doubts. I really think i might be sign of some far feeling of lack of trust. If you really do trust him try to push thoughts out of your head.

Because you're obsessed with his habit. Stop thinking about it. If he smokes, he does. It's his life.
