Would any of the catholics on this site (the ones that quote the Bible, etc.) be willing to have a debate with me about religion? I am a Catholic...I just don't agree with a lot that is said here and would like to hear what you think? If so, email me at lisa_mac_21@yahoo.com

Anytime, anywhere.

Although, as another answerer has already pointed out, it would be more accurate to call it a discussion rather than a debate. If there are elements of Catholic beliefs and/or practices that you disagree with, you will end up on the loosing side, eventually.

Reason being, even if you somehow manage to out-debate, or remain unconvinced, of a learned Catholic's explanations, you still need to realize that it is not what I say, or anyone else here says, that's important - it's the Man Upstairs. His Divine view is the only one that really counts, and you cannot outwit God.

If you desire to be an apologist to your respective denomination, extra vigour to you - however you're creating a HUGE mistake in that you're going out watching for a battle (an offensive process) while your process as an apologist is to DEFEND, now not offend. It's now not your process to move watching for main issue; simply be capable for it while main issue unearths you. Be sufferer, the possibility to DEFEND your denomination will reward itself earlier than lengthy. It constantly does. The equal is going for all you Catholics who're too keen and chew dangerous bait.

I would be willing to debate with you. I hardly call myself an expert, but I would be willing to try.

I would also like to suggest that you talk with a priest, both of you. They have more knowledge of the teachings and history of the church than I, but I would like to help in anyway I can.

maybe not debate, but discuss...I'm in a similar situation. I am slowly starting to think religion is nothing but a way to segregate people. I believe all people are in the least spiritual, and we should embrace our own spirituality more.

Alternative; Instead of 'debating' the subject, could you pose the 'issue(s)' to someone you respect and go from there?

Most 'debates' that I have seen in my life have not been pretty things to view. (I am almost 49 at present).
