Of course your going to feel maybe even a lttle bad , but it's not your fault that the dog came out of no where and the weather didn't help any. So don't worry about it things like this happen all the time. There's not much we can do to stop it.

It depends if you feel you did anything wrong. Guilt is the way you realise when you did wrong.
Were you going to fast? Maybe it's a reminder to go slower, especially in the rain, because next time it could be a little child running out.
Did you stop to help him and make sure he got vet care or humane euthanasia? Or did you speed off? Maybe you're feeling guilty because you realise some family is now searching for their pet, and they'll never find him because he's decomposing in a ditch somewhere.
Try to use the guilt to remind yourself to drive slower, use extra caution in the rain, and take responsibility if you do hit someone's pet.

It's natural to feel bad Many years ago, I was walking down the street, startled a cat who ran in front of a moving car. I still feel bad even though I didn't even see the cat until it ran. Your question just reminded me of it and I feel bad all over again.

If it was an accident you shouldn't feel bad because it was an accident but, its easier said than done. Now, if you did it and kept driving and didn't stop to get out and see if it could be helped or at least have the courtasy to shoot it and put it out of its misery if its too far gone and barely hanging on and suffering than I would say you are the devil. But, like I say it depends if you stopped or not.

I would personally feel terrible if I did it, regardless of the circumstances. That's just me and I have a tendancy to be very empathetic. It wasn't your fault, you couldn't help it. The fault here falls to the people who were responsible for that dog. Whether that be the actual owner, who didn't keep it properly confined to a yard, or the people who allowed it's mother to breed and create unwanted/stray dogs.

Do you not have any feelings? i would feel bad even though he came out of nowhere. You just ended a dog's life. some kid is missing him. Hopefully, he didn't suffer long.

I guess some of you have never heard of stray dogs. It wasn't necessarily someone's pet.
I would have felt bad when it happened, but since it was an accident, I would probably be over it by now.

No. My dog just got killed by a car and the driver didn't stop, but you know I didn't care one bit about the driver not stopping. I know it was an accident, fault goes all around, but you can't bring him back.
I think I would feel bad, if I were the driver, but I'd try not to let it disturb me too much.
Try to put it out of your mind....it could not have been prevented.
