Sunday a guy stood up and for half an hour told me how bad I was and I could not help myself. He told me that I was going to these horrible places and would fail at many things.

Then after church I went to lunch.

Yes, my second husband did it to me all of the time - it is called being a control freak. Come to think of it, he thought he was god.

That really sucks, and to be honest with you, I'm a Christian and I freakin hate that kind of crap.

A lot of preachers don't understand that making a person feel guilty and ashamed doesn't help the cause of Christ. If Jesus were on the earth physically, He would still be hanging out with society's rejects. He was friends with people who were outcast and hated by the religious leaders of the day.

Here's the message in love: God isn't glorified by sin, but it isn't just you. Everyone in the world is a sinner. The only way to a life that glorifies God is to dedicate (believe in your heart and confess with your mouth) your life to the fact that Jesus Christ is God. Yeah, some things do have to change, and some behaviors do have to go, but if it means a lifetime with Christ on Earth and an eternity with Him in Heaven, I certainly don't mind.

Again, I'm sorry that you're the victim of a really crappy preacher and a false example of Christ's love.

By the way, if you're a believer anyway, and he was telling you that you were going horrible places, he's teaching false doctrine.

He wouldn't have got away with that had it have been me. You've got more patience than me to tolerate that behavior. I would have taken a very dim view and he wouldn't have lasted half an hour with his insults.
