You could thank God for almost everything because you are alive and able to function due to the supply of Higher Power. You did your part and other people did theirs, but who coordinated? You could also thank yourself, and many others--the countless people who contributed to your well-being. How about the farmer who provided your food and so on? Thanking God expresses your gratitude to all. Gratitude opens many doors and makes everyone feel good. Thus the question is, why would you not want to thank God?

I agree with you. It was your will and training that got you the job. God did not help you with your resume, train you or the like.
God is a support system just as a parent can be. They do not train, but support you. It was your work that made it happen.
People dont get it that God gave people their own mind to make decisions with. He does not make up their minds for them or even guide them with the exceptions of knowing what is right or wrong and what is good or bad.

Don't smell air, don't drink water, and don't eat food then let us see how your hard work will help you. Some people choose to deny all God blessings although they can't live without it a second.

You obviously answered your own question. In any case, you should never thank an imaginary being for any good or bad that comes your way.

Oh yes, you should be thanking God... for anything good that happens to you. You may be the one that did the work in finding work, and cleaning your suits, etc. But, He made it all possible. Who made it possible for you to have enough money to buy your suits? To have gas money to look for work? To open the door to employment when you looked? You bet, you need to thank God for anything good that comes to you. And, if you have YOUR so called OWN drive, who gives you that drive? Do you see many that are too lazy to look for word? These people dont have the precious gift you have. All good and perfect things come from God, and all the bad is devil brought. We serve only one master, God tells us. We either pick God and its a free choice, or we dont. If we dont pick God, then we automatically choose the onlly other person trying to run for the job as master, the devil himself. If we make the right choice, we will be rewarded. And if we dont choose God, we will suffere the consequences. Christians still get bad times, as not all in the world are Christians, and they bring a lot of other ilk upon us, that causes confusion and problems. But, if we are following God, He gets us thru it. You say why should you give credit to an absentee person when YOU did all the hard work? I can see if you dont believe, why you would feel that way. But its in error, whether you recognize it or not. God, is never absent. He is with us all the time. But, it is us that chooses to call upon Him for help or to ignore it. I guarantee the devil isnt gonna come to you and offer help He only wants to be sure you dont get salvation and will tempt you in any way he can, to be assured you never turn to God. But, God loves us enough to still love us and try to help us. How much help we get is dependant on how much we ask, and if we listen to what He tells us or not. God gave you life, and only God can take it away. He is a powerful God, an almighty God, and the only God that is true God. He can bless you in so many ways, to overflow. Dont let the devil keep you from ever listening and asking and waiting to see how God will answer . Just ask God to reveal Himself to you, and He will, in His time and His way. But, His purpose is to save you. You are someone of drive, and I assure you God has a purpose for you. He can do great things for you, and lead you to be the one that is out there helping others that dont know Him yet. Its fully your choice. God forces noone. BUt I tell all ahtiests, dont listen to me or anyone else. Just begin to ask God and see for yourself what happens. Tell Him if He is real, you want to know Him, and watch what happens, and the more you obey what you learn, the moree He will bless you and teach you. There is nothing on earth worth giving up God for. All the gold and silver in this world on judgement day wont be worth a cent when we realize we cant go to Heaven. And remember, God never rejects anyone, and sends to hell. It is we who either accept or reject him in our choices. Concequences of choosing God is infinite and lead to heaven forever and ever, with all our loved ones that choose Him too, the others we will forget. He tells us this. no tears in heaven, no sickness or pain. But, if we dont make the choice for God, and noone can make it for us, then we have rejected God and hell is the only other option. Its not what God wants. But there cant be people in heaven that are liars, thieves, and etc. as heaven would be just like it is here now. So , if you see someone saying they are Christian and they arent living as God says to, then you know they arent Christian. We cant judge them. Thats Gods job. But, God says we can tell them by their fruits, how they are living and acting. Is it like Jesus.?????? SO, never be quick to label us Christians under one single banner. See the real from the fake, and make choices based on that. God bless you, and thank you for your question. If it makes a nyone think out there, its a good thing. God bless.

Who wakes you up in the morning? Who gives you activity of your limbs? Who clothe you in your right mind? God does so many little things. He knows what is best for you. So why not give him praise for the little things that he do? He deserves it all the thanks :-)
