Dont listen to any of these morons...If ur having a toothache u should see ur dentist..they will give u antibiotics and pain meds...it will take 24-48hrs for the antibiotics to kick in and the pain should subside...Then ur dentist will go over ur treatment plan and let u know if the tooth is restorable or not. See ur DENTIST ASAP!! Good luck!

If you're sure the pain is coming from your wisdom teeth then this is usually quite normal and should go away after a day or two. It's clinical name is pericoronitis if you want to look it up. Just keeping the area clean at the back and making sure no food or anything gets trapped there is the best thing to do. Mouthwashes or even warm saltwater rinses 2/3 times a day will help. If the pain doesn't go away though and keeps coming back you should definately go see a dentist. This might turn into something more complicated and it may even get infected. To be sure it's pericoronitis and not a decayed tooth, does it hurt (dull pain) when you push your finger on the gum on and around the tooth? If it does then it's probably normal, if it doesn't and gives you a sharp pain on eating/drinking it could be decay. Both are possible causes so more info would be helpful. Depending on what the situation is exactly, and how many times the pain keeps coming back extraction would be the last choice, so don't worry about it for now.

you could take some available over the counter pain killers like brufen or aspirin. even chewing a clove gives temporary relief. but the best thing to do is go and see a dentist at the earliest possible cause you don't want that tooth problem to aggravate and cause more pain.

Clove oil is the best home remedy for toothaches. Even dentists use it. I found the information at
http://aches.in/toothacheremedies.html useful.

I have had every imaginable thing done to my mouth. I KNOW tooth pain. You probably have an infection of some sort. You need to call your dentist and get in there ASAP. In the meantime, pop some Advil and get yourself a tube of Orajel.

The tooth will have to be removed to be completely rid of the pain. Pain meds are a temporary fix. (You are probably aware of this by now.)
