I have my earlobe stretched. Its not THAT large, but its something I did because I have a fascination with old methods of piercings and tattoos. Just like the tribes with lip plates, most people would find that to be gross but I work with a guy who stretched his lip and its actually rather appealing on him.

It really comes down to a matter of personal taste and desire. I like stretched earlobes, I find them to be beautiful in the same way that I find all body mods to be beautiful. Plus, I'm not a girly girl, so chandelier earrings and long drooping hoops aren't my style. With my plugs, I feel more me and I can wear jewelry that suits me best. I am also fully prepared to deal with the fact that one day, I might need surgery to fix my ears. (Edit: at least its the freaking truth, man!)

To each, his or her own.

I think it looks strang. I mean it originated in Africa where the tribeswomen also stretch their necks by adding a gold hollow disc every year after a certain age, 12 I think. Apparently they do this to achieve long necks like Western women. So I don't understand why people are taking up tribal practices here. I don't know if the skin ever goes back to normal and if not then ewwwwww

In my experience I had my lobes stretched to 6g because I ran out of options for piercings, not that I'm covered in piercings, I only have 10.

I love the jewelry options and the look. I'm not a "girly girl" so the usual dainty earrings didn't do it for me. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a fan of the larger gauges and I doubt I'll go bigger than the 6g I have now.

It's really not an attention thing to go that big. If you think about it, the lobes will never return to the original size. Opposite to popular belief, those of us who have piercings are not stupid and would never do something that extreme solely for attention.

Everyone has their own reasons for doing what they do. No one else HAS to like it.

I think that to stretch them out that big looks ridiculous. However, I think that on some guys, (and girls) it looks really good to have them stretched a lil bit. Not huge like in that picture, but I think that a 6g is alright. Maybe a 4...depends on the person.

It just to be different. My ears a streatched. Not that big though. They're only 6 gauge. Its just a fashion thing. A lot of tribal people do it in Africa I believe and that's where it originated from. I don't think there is anything wrong with it. To each his own.

lame is probably the best out of your suggestions- there is no point to it and it's something white boy rocker wanna be's do and then regret when they realize they suck and apply for real jobs and get crazy looks and no calls back once they grow up. At least a tattoo doesnt alter your body shape/size- I'd rather see piercings and tattos than this. Only surgery repairs this... yuck!

Why do people dye their hair.. shave their armpits and legs... why do people dress up... better yet why do they erect memorials.... i got mine (tattoo) for my son... he is in the Air Force .... even though i carried him for nine months i can carry him on the shoulder..... earlobe stretching is another form self expression... you don't have to like it or accept it but well this is the land of the free and....well you are wasting time worrying about it....move on

I dont think there is anything wrong with it...I like it. It depends on who its on, and what siza is it. I like piercings of all sorts, but there are some people I dont like it on, if they asked my opinion on whether I liked it on them or not. I'd be honest. Some people like u dont like them and thats cool. especially since you're not dissing them..you just dont find it appealing...like I'm sure that you may find something appealing that we may not....people have different likes and dislikes thats what makes us all unique and special. But in my personal opinion. I think earlobe stretching is sexy...and cool. I like seeing them anyone...as long as they look right with them...I'm thinking of getting mine stretched, but small ones....not as big as the ones in the link u posted.

I've seen some really hot guys with stretched lobes, but it's not so hot looking when they take their jewelery out. yikes.and i think it depends on what gauge their stretched to.some people do go overboard with it. some people just like to freak people out. To each his own I say.

Everyone can do what they want, my friend did hers and now she is regretting it. I guess u have to get surgery to repair it. so anyone who is thinking about doing it needs to think if they are willing to live with it the rest of their lives or pay all of that money to fix them when the next new thing comes in.
