I've been trying to figure out why you inserted the bit about John?I think that even most Christians know that the so called 'Gospels' of Mathew ,Mark, Luke and John were certainly not written by them, (that can be proved)!
Facts and religion, (any religion) do not go together at all, facts cannot enter into it, history cannot enter into it, any thing at all that smacks of logic cannot enter into it!!
Faith is all they have , shame really isnt it??

My mother has been a member of the same sect for 75 years and honestly thinks that she knows the Truth. She can argue anyone under the table on a Bible debate and believes that her interpretation of it is the right one.
I admire the fact that she can hold steady to a belief system while not agreeing with her at all
If she is right, why admire such a dictator, Saddam has been condemned to death for far less.

Just little tidbits of info on the Bible:
gospel means good news
church means called-out ones
baptized means immersed in water (ex. The ship was baptized after it was hit by the cannonball.)
baptize was transliterated in the King James version because King James didn't believe in immersion

Slowly but surely,God believe it or not is sending out little bits and pieces of evidence everyday. Here's an example.

It's a start. The more they dig.The more they find.Good grief!Israel is a virtual living country of history in itself, though people want to turn their head and keep denying it.
God Bless You.

Our faith is not based on "Facts" it is based on our beliefs. It is what we feel in our hearts and that is enough proof for me. You don't have to believe so it shouldn't matter if others do.

Because what we believe is our truth. BTW Crypton, I don't feel that believing and serving God is a waste of my time. How have I wasted my time? I'm doing what I love, regardless of what you believe.

Because if they opened their minds to the possiblity that they are wrong then they might have to actually start believing that everything they stand for is a complete waste of time and start taking responsibility for their own actions instead of thanking/blaming someone else.
