Ok so I have dated this guy for four years now and we are sorta still together but dont have the "title." We are college students and he loves to party, dance with girls, and has a history of lying to me. He always tells me he could never lose me and if he did his life would be hell. I cannot trust him anymore. I dont have that attraction anymore either.

Recently I met a guy at work and I am starting to like him. I hung out with him all night Saturday night and we have been talking on the phone. My question is, How do I tell the guy that I have been seeing for 4 years that its over without breaking his heart? Also, should I be honest about the other guy or just wait to tell him that?

There is really no easy way to break up with someone. If your going to break up with him then just do it. Life will go on. Yeah he will be hurt, but it sounds like he deserves it. You need someone better than that. You are worth more just remmember that. You should be honest to the other guy because honesty is the best policy if your not honest with him it will never work. Everything should work out for you in the end. I hope. Good Luck!

It's pretty hard to break away from something that has lasted as long as your relationship has lasted, but then it comes a point where; at your age--relationships do change. The way I see it. If you're confused all the time about this guy and you're not feeling it anymore; why cheat yourself? Isn't it fair for you to give yourself the opportunity to move on? If you're not attracted to him anymore and you don't like how he's treated you, then what answer are you truly seeking from someone else? You've already answered your own question.

You're young enjoy your life and explore options.

First tell him you don't want to be with him any more because you can't take the lien any more, and that you don't mind the parting but if he really didn't want to loose you he would not be dancing with other girls.Oh and he is probably just telling he can't loose you to keep you by his side as a back up so no matter what girl he has or had he has you to fall back on. And Second what ever other guys your dating or talking to he does not have any obligation to know for the simply fact that he does not tell you about other girls he could possibly be hooking up with or talk to. So don' t give him the pleasure of knowing what you have been up to. Good luck =}

There is no way to tell someone without breaking their heart, sorry! I would be honest about how you feel about him, not trusting him and that the attraction is just not what it should be to continue the relationship. I don't see any need to discuss this other guy if you have decided that he is just not for you anymore and it isn't why you have come to this decision.

I dont think you're going to break his heart, it seems like he might want the same thing. You're in college you gotta play the field and so does he. But tell him its time for both of you to move on for the time being.

if you dont trust him and you think he's cheated, you are probably right!.... don't feel attracted to him anymore...then it's time to move on!...be honest..tell him it's over....if you see him with another girl very soon after then you know you have done the right thing!

Just remember that love cannot be forced. So, no matter how hard breaking the truth is...you still got to tell.

You love the first guy so stay true to him...but thats only if he doesn't lie. But since he lies to you...you need to sit down with him and discuss your future.

This new guy, be his friend and if he needs something, help him out. But if your boy friend isn't true to you, but this guy at work is, then dump your boy friend and go with the new guy.

But I personally beleave in true love, in which I have found that already. ;)

Good luck

You need to be honest with your current bf. you need to tell him about the new guys and just move on. it will hurt at first, for both, but in the long run its best
