Figure out how many calories you require daily, cut that back to between 300-500 calories, become more active. You can safely lose about 8 - 10 pounds in a month. Of course the best way to lose and keep off weight it a healthy diet and regular exercise. There are no magic bullets.

I'll make this as simple as possible: less in, more out! Eat less calories than you burn and you will lose weight. You can lose weight in a week, a month, six months, a year, whatever, it doesn't matter, as long as you burn more fuel than you consume.
First thing to do: EXCERCISE! Run, jog, walk, play tennis, racquetball, basketball, row, whatever, but move your body to the extent that it raises your heartrate into the 140 range for 30-60 minutes at a time 3-5 days a week (or more). Don't increase your caloric intake, or you are wasting your time.
Secondly, eat sensibly: Low fat meats (chicken & fish for example), whole grains, 2-3 fruits a day, and low carb vegetables without adding a bunch of butter to them, btw. Salads offer good fiber, but don't ruin it with hi calorie dressings. Avoid useless sugars, like candy, cakes, ice creams. Try to increase protein intake while decreasing carb/fat and sugar. Low fat cottage cheese with fruit on top has great protein and enough "GOOD" sugars in the fruit to satisfy cravings for sweets. Sugar free yogurts are also filling with low calories. Try to stick with fresh foods and limit processed foods (frozen dinners, fast foods, yada yada...)
You will lose weight if you follow these tips.

Lose 10 pounds in 2 weeks??
There are some websites on the Internet, which promise you that you are going to lose 10 pounds in every 2 weeks. If you are good in math you will find that keeping these stats in mind, 260 pounds in a year. Losing 260 pounds is the figure, which is unbelievable and unexpected.
This kind of claims are planned just to cause clients to make impulsive decisions. When you gain weight, did you gained around 50 minds in two months? Certainly not. We gain weight in weight in small parts, which add up to our weight. This keeps on increasing with time.
I think you get what I mean to say. We normally gain weight in grams like 65 gram per week. With this stat you are going to gain around 7 pounds at the end of year.
This weight is so slow that you cannot measure it weekly. But in fur years you are going to gain around 28 pounds.
So how can you expect this weight to go in few days? You are going to lose the way you have gained it. So it will take time to lose weight. So you have to start losing weight systematically. You can lose weight by developing the good eating habits in you and nutritious foods.

Provided you don't want to lose too much weight or have set an unrealistic goal, you could cut calories and exercise. A tool for calculating how many calories your body needs can be found here http://www.thewomenshospital.com/HC_CalNeeded.asp I think they usually say you should subtract 300 from this number each day in order to lose weight. If you exercise for 4 or so days a week and keep track of your calories in a journal, you should be good to go, but try not to overdo it.
