I'm from York,Pa which is 20 min. south of Harrisburg. It's nice there, but I don't think I would want to live there. You are right across the river from 3 mile Island which if you don't know, it the nucleaur power plant that melted down in 1978, two of the towers still work though. It also has thee highest pollen rate in the country, so if you have severe allergies, that is another downside. It does however have good night life, clubs and bars. Rent is on the mid -high side. A decent apartment will run you 800-1000 per month. They do also have great Art shows, boat races and tons of stuff to do, and the shopping and food is awesome. Palmyra is a smaller town next to Harrisburg that is cheaper to live , Hershey is far too expensive. Best of Luck!
