If this is your 7th then you already know how to take care of it and what happens to it afterwards. Your tat shouldn't "scab" but the top layer should peel like you had a sunburn with some itching. If it did scab then you didn't keep it moist enough afterwards.

Hm, If this is your seventh, then you should know already... ?

Tattoos should not scab, if they do, you will lose color. period. There's not maybe, but a defenite yes. Scabbing occurs when too much stress is put on a tattoo when healing (clothes sticking to or rubbing, moving or covering the area excessively) in the healing process, if the artist puts the tattoo too deep, or if you allow the tattoo to dry out... If you touch your tattoo other than when you're cleaning them(with cean hands), or if you pick or scratch your new tattoo, than this can put more stress on the tattoo, and you can lose color. See, when your scabs fall off, or get picked/knocked off, the scab will always take some color with it.

Tattoos should more of "peel", and if your artist didn't carved you up, then if you take care of your tattoo, it wil do this. It should peel more like a sunburn(it usually is the color of the tattoo, but no worries), it shouldn't not scab like a cut or wound.
It should be a light layer of skin 'peeling off" like this:

If your tattoo peels, you're good and you recieve almost no color loss. Mine always look brighter after the layer peels off!
Now you are informed.

I'm not going into aftercare, because afetr 7, you should know. So use the proper after care that your artist reccomended and baby yout new tattoo.

Keep in mind, also, that tattoos fade, due to time. But (afetr it heals, at LEAST 3 weeks) start wearing sunblock when you go outdoors. Sun fades tattoos much faster than the aging of skin. Tattoos SHOULD not fade during the healing process but many times do..

The 8th tat is the one that will tell you the truth about fading...etc. It's something about the number 8 that is the trick. All you have to do is make an appointment and show up. Lie in the chair , point to you forehead and say "ell". When you get home and look in the mirror (although it will be backwards) you will know what the whole world knows ... you will have an "L" on your forehead and if it does fade then you are only a small time loser but if it doesn't fade then you've hit the big time. You'll be known as a big loser.

If your tattoo is currently scabbed keep it constantly moist with Aquaphor Healing Ointment. This will prevent fading. Also protect it form sunlight after it heals and always use lotions with SPF.

Also if your 6 other tats have faded, it's time to find a better artist and have them all fixed.

it won't fade out if you keep it out of the sun light for the first few months . this is the best time to get a tattoo. when it's cold outside

7th is the charm. If your other tattoos didn't...I don't think this one will form a rebellion and fade out.

If it does ask the tattoo parlor to touch it up.

all of mine faded slightly after scabbing. just remember to NOT pick at it. and don't use any scented lotions or antibiotic creams with sulfur in them until it is completely healed. (bacitracin is a sulfur free antibiotic) i'm sure you probably know all this, but just in case someone doesn't i put it on there. after it's healed, if you want to really make the colors pop, olay's quench lotion works wonders, plus it sparkles just a little!!!!

You need to keep it greased , or it may fade a bit in the scabbed areas
