If the cost of an item of clothing is deductible, then the cost of cleaning it should also be deductible. Uniforms are deductible if they are not suited for general wear outside work. This is a question of fact and should be discussed with your tax preparer.

If you have a specific uniform which you do not wear when off the job then cleaning and repair for the uniform that is not reimbursed by the employer is deductible your your sch A.

As a miscelleanous deduction on schedule A. You will have to exceed 2% of your adjusted gross income before you get a tax bebefit.
