I have a neutered male dog approximately 170 lbs. He urinates in multiple places every time I take him outside. I have had several dogs in my life time, and I've never seen a dog go in so many places in one outing as this one does. He is approximately 4 or 5 years old. He is a rescue from the streets. I have had him for over a year now, and he is quite a character. I love him a lot, and I want what is the best for him. I am concerned about him, so here I am asking about his problem. He does not whine or cry when he goes. It is just alot of urine, in multiple places, and he takes a lot of time to do it each time. I'm not sure what would be causing this to occure in him, can some one help me?

What you're describing sounds like typical male dog behavior to me. Female dogs go outside, do their business and are done. For male dogs, however, peeing is more about "marking" than actually having to pee. I have two female dogs and one male... my females squat and are done, meanwhile my male could pee fifteen times in fifteen different places. Even though they are fixed, they still have that instinct to mark (just like many still mount other dogs even though they're fixed). As long as he's able to hold his urine and only goes outside, I'd say it's normal. If he is peeing very frequently (including inside) and in small amounts, I'd have him checked for a bladder infection.... but what you're describing sounds like typical "boy stuff" from my experience. :)

Firstly, if he's straining to go and not able to go in 4-5 different places you should take him to a vet to get him checked for a UTI.

If he is just going to the bathroom in 4-5 different places thats pretty normal. Dogs usually pee multiple times during an outing, even if they are neutered. Some of it is just marking territory.

in case you be attentive to for particular there is no an infection, then do not hassle. a lot relies upon on the guy and the toddler's place. I had to urinate a lot with my first each and every of ways via being pregnant, and that is even worse with this one! i'm sporting her very low, and he or she has already dropped (i'm 34 weeks now). that is totally uncomfortable, and a soreness, by way of fact i will't even go procuring while not having to offer as much as pee, and vehicle journeys of better than one million/2 an hour are an entire no-no. My b/f thinks that is extremely a chortle, although that is making use of me insane! that's established, my well being care provider says that my bladder is working at a pair of million/2 the traditional quantity, as toddler is squashing it a lot! No concerns... :-)

This is normal. Hes just marking (and yes some nuetered dogs still mark). Also hes 170 lbs I imagine thats the reson hes able to hold so much (large bladder). Dont worry about this.

He is simply marking his territory. This is normal for male and females to do this. Nothing to worry about at all.

Have you taken him to the vet? Once you have taken him to the vet-then go on from that point. Sorry, I'm not a vet, wish I was.

Is this a new thing? I'd have him checked for a UTI.
