OF course he did. However there is an unwritten revelation. if both adam and eve had refused to eat and all temptations of satan would they have grown up eternally and become the sons of God without sin?
But God cannot know what people will do until they do it! Especially in a controlled environment...
He knew that both trees were offered, both choices were offered equally, therefore statistically it was a 50/50 chance, probability that either choice could be made.

Did God know beforehand that adam and eve would eat the forbidden fruit?

immaterial. They ate of the tree.

How do you know what God can know and what he cannot know????

Another point is that if Adam and Eve had not eaten of the forbidden fruit, humanity would not exist. People did not come into being until after Adam and Eve were cast out of the Garden of Eden.

God knew what would happen. He wanted things to happen the way they did. Without 'original sin' (there is no such thing) the plan of salvation wouldn't have come about and none of us would be able to return to our father in heaven.

It's all part of one big eternal cycle.

If they ate the tree of life first, it would still be overruled when they eventually ate from the tree of knowledge of good and evil. That is why God barred the tree of life after they ate from the forbidden tree. Then the tree of life would have overruled the forbidden fruit. Anyway, yes, God knew that they would eventually eat from the forbidden fruit. If they had never eaten from the fruit, then they would still be in the Garden of Eden today, childless and childlike in their innocence. We would all still be in heaven waiting for our turn on earth, waiting for Adam and Eve to get things started.

WIth that type of logic, I dare you to tell your children not to touch a hot stove because it might burn them - and then give them that 50/50 chance of obeying you..... You'll be at a burn center in no time....

God is allegedly omnisicent. Therefore, he is responsible for everything mankind does. Why?? What about Free Will?? Well, they cannot exist... God omnisciently created an imperfect creature in man. Therefore, its all God's fault....he could have made a better creation. He screwed up. And then, he blames it on us!!!

I wonder if the earth would've been populated or not if Adam/Eve never ate that fruit myself.

Of course He did. God knows all things that will ever happen, and He always has known everything that was going to happen.
