I don't know but I am pretty ticked off that they did. Now we all have to wear clothes.

Its true that God can know the future. But i have a question for you... Can God control Himself? Just because a person can do something does it mean they must do it? God gave Adam and Eve free will. Therefore it must dictate that He respects free will. If i look at your life and judge you know because in 30 years you'll commit a crime is that fair? No. God chose not to see the outcome of Adam and Eve as a respect for their free will. If things went wrong then He is more than wise enough to deal with the situation.

God knows everything. Remember when the apostles asked Jesus when the end would come and he said that the only one who knew that was God? God knows what we're going to do before we do it, we have free will to make the choices we want to make. And in the Garden of Eden there were many, many trees that Adam and Eve were allowed to eat from, there was only 1 tree, the one in the middle of the Garden that they wern't allowed to eat from. So the odds were far from 50/50.

Interesting thoughts and I truly don't know the answer but I can share my thoughts. I would have to agree that he knew. If not the actions of Adam and Eve would make him not perfect. Thinking about it, makes it feel like a game of chance that we humans play when we are gambling. I believe somewhere along the way I picked up information that the Spirit needed to find a way to explore and express the need of giving and recieving and this is how everything has come about.

God is the Author of the whole story of the universe.
No character of a NOVEL will do any thing without the knowledge of the Author. Same is the case with Adam & Eve - they will act as decided by the Author - God.

They could never have made the good choice. All mankind has an evil human nature that is stronger than our desire to good and there is no man ever born who could not resist temptation except Christ. Don't forget, the kingdom of God is within you, Jesus is the tree of life, the gospel is the flaming sword that guards the way to the garden of eden (paradise or heaven) God wanted all men to fall so that He could save us and have the glory. And boy, does He deserve it!

Biblical scholars the world over have concluded that Adam and Eve never existed, but are part of old stories made up to teach people a lesson.

what gets me is, if god did in fact know that Adam and eve would eat the forbidden fruit, why would he set them up for failure. is that not the cruelest thing, to offer Paradise knowing full well that they would squander it? , I'm sure that all the fundies will spout off about free will, but putting someone in a position that you know they will fail ( cause god is all knowing, right?) is pretty far from free will. and if there is free will, then gods plan for all of us is null and void, because if we are following his plan, were following his will and not ours, hence, no free will.

So you just answered the question yourself hmm?
Yes Yahwey knew that his children would taste the fruit. Didn't Lilith do it before? (read the Latin for that story). But that was all part of his plan in the first place.
Makes me glad I'm decended from the people of Nod.

God can know what people will do before they do it, He just doesn't make them do it, it is their own free will decision.
There was one tree they were to not eat fruit from, not two.

of course He knew. God knows everything (including all things that will ever happen), and He always has.
