I have never heard that. I have heard and seen pastors that have corrected people teaching wrong, or incomplete. I have seen pastors that have not allowed people preach or teach for not living biblically as the word states. Perhaps that is what is going on here?

If it is someone sitting with their family teaching each other, I can't imagine why a pastor would be against it.

I have been a pastor for 9 years.... I have 4 wonderful children..... I am more than their father.... I am also their Pastor.... I have never heard of another Minister not allowing anyone to teach the bible...to anyone family members or not. As long as its the Bible they are teaching and not denominational doctrine.... The word comes first.

My family and I have Bible study weekly, it is a great time for us and we all enjoy it very much. It has drawn me closer to my wife and children than most husbands/fathers ever realize.

God bless you :)

There are a few possibilities. Your Pastor could be a control freak or he/she doesn't feel that the one who's having the Bible study is qualified to teach. Some Pastors are insecure and feel threatened by other men/women of God. Kinda sad, but true. I would go to your Pastor and ask him what is his/her reason for this decision... NMT

there are some who may feel they are the only " qualified " teachers since they have studied for the ministry. there might be different qualifications for different denominations to teach others.

Can you please clarify?

Do you mean a minister from a different religious group?

If so, perhaps they fear their family will the truth about their beliefs.
