It seems to always amuse people no matter how old a person is. It can be a great ice breaker and room shaker along with mood breaker. I am not a poet, and I thought you should know it.

It's that we're filled with pride and poise
and then get laid out by that raucous noise

I have never found passing gas to be a great ice breaker. It's the opposite, as a matter of fact. It only creates a silent, awkward moment among guests. Quite frankly, it can be quite rude if done in a most inappropriate place.

Many people get a kick out of it because it gets a rise out of people- whether it be good or bad. Regardless of whether letting out a toot is considered rude or funny(depending on the people and/or situation), the tooter gets the satisfaction of knowing he/she has had an effect on others.

Because it is funny. A good tummy rumbler can get a laugh from almost anyone. One of my favorites is to walk the aisles of a large store, and leave a cloud of doom behind for someone to walk into - now that is hilarious!

I don't know what is so amusing...honestly. My ex-husbands family is terribly proud of their own bodily emissions. I consider it rude and something that should be done as privately as possible.

Peace.

probably because that is the one trait we ALL share, no matter where on earth we live or how old we are. Farting (like laughter) is a universal language
