Yes.. *Don't roll your head around in circles, simply nod your chin from side to side. *Keep a very warm compress where it hurts for half an hour, then *Change to an ice pack for half an hour. The changing it helps the blood flow and helps with any muscle soreness or swelling. Lie somewhere that's comfortable, fix your pillows differently and try to stay like that during the night. XXX

ice, ice ice baby ice. putting heat on it will only make it hurt longer. I know this cause I have MS and many times I get a sore neck from pinched nerve, the physical therpist says to put cold packs on a sore neck or any sore muscles. I am sorry it hurts so bad. As much as it hurts to move it, continue to move your neck left and right to keep it from getting stiff. Take Care

alternating every 30 minutes between heat and ice can be very effective. Use a bag of frozen peas or small vegetables because it will conform to your neck better than plain ice. Hope you feel better soon!

First 24 hours of pain it is heat, after that it is ice. I got a thumbs down, but she is NOT doing anything active with her "neck." You do not use heat if you are active with the area of where the soreness is located.

Moist heat, not ice. Take a hot shower and/or use a heating pad. When it's nice and warm, stretch your neck carefully to get the kinks out. You'll feel better tomorrow.

if it just started hurting within the last 72-96 hours use ice. if started earlier than that period of time then use heat.

Heat. It will relax the muscles. Get somebody who knows what they are doing to rub out the knots.
