Set a goal of not smoking for one week. During this week, pay close attention to what other people who smoke smell like. They smell like crap and soooo unpleasant to be around! Your hair, your clothes, your room...everything smells! You can't smell it b/c you are constantly around it. THe worst is when women smoke and try to cover it up with their perfume...gross. This is what I did when I wanted to quit smoking...soon enough it totally grossed me out. Also, talk to people who hate smokers...they will fill you in on what they really think of people who smoke...this should help deter you from smoking becuase you really don't want to be on of those gross smokers do you?? Just TRY to quit....you are faaaaar too young to be destroying your lungs.

You're only 13... you really aren't as addicted as you think. JUST QUIT... it really is that easy.. I quit in April after 10 years of smoking... All I needed was the willpower not to pick up another cigarette.

Try cutting down to three cigarettes for a week, then two, then one. You will wean yourself off gradually from the nicotine and the habit. It's a lot less severe than cold turkey. Try eating sunflower seeds or pistacchio nuts whenever you feel like a cigarette instead. It keeps your hands and mouth occupied, which is often a main part of the habit for most people.

Get people to yell at you. Seriously, this works. Like whenever you go smoke, tell a friend that you are going to go (A friend who doesn't smoke). Then have that friend yell at you and tell you that you are being stupid. You might hate your friend for a while, but it usually works. Get more than one friend to do this too. And your family, if you wanna tell them about it.

I started smoking @ 14 I am now 40 and if i had the answer to your question it would help me alot .GOOD luck and maybe your parents can help you. go ask them for help.

unfortunately, I started at your age,and cold turkey is the only thing that has ever worked for me (that is, just stopping)...and. I still havent stopped for good., I'm 18.
