Putting pregnancy and illness aside, hair pretty much grows at a maximum rate of half an inch per month no matter what you do. A little faster in the summer than in the winter.
Although there is nothing that you can do to make your hair grow faster with current technology, there are a number of things that may actually slow the process such as; a poor hair care regimen, poor diet, illness, medication, male and female pattern hair loss, and emotional stress.
Some of these things don't actually affect the growth rate per se, but they affect the hairs' health and unhealthy hair will probably not grow to its full potential. Besides regular shampooing and conditioning with good quality products, the only other thing that you can really do is take an inexpensive daily multi vitamin such as Centrum or even Flintstones. Don't waste your money on super vitamins. Zinc and Biotin in particular seem to be good for hair and are both found in the above recommendations. Unless you are pregnant or very ill with cancer or the like, your body only requires so many vitamins per day and simply flushes out the excess. In other words, you can't put twenty gallons in a ten gallon tank.

Eat a healthy diet get all the food groups in moderation. Spend some time in the sun (use sunscreen on your skin no need to tempt skin cancer while working on hair growth.) Take proper care of your hair in the meanwhile use good shampoos something from a good salon I use bedhead moisture maniac shampoo and conditioner (it doesn't take much and you can find the liter bottles usually on sale buy one get one for about $20 US) another good brand but a little pricier is pureology (harder to find too.) Don't over process your hair in the meanwhile that means hair color, perms, drying and curling or straightening. Be careful with heat it will damage your hair so use a hot dryer and the other appliances with care. Scalp massages will also increase the blood flow and also may help hair growth.

I don't know about an inch, but rubbing an egg yolk all over your hair and leaving it on for 10 minutes before you wash your hair helps improve the texture and growth of your hair, and also for new growth so you can have a thicker head of hair.

Healthy diet is imperative. Perhaps try a supplement; there are so many on the market for hair and nail growth. Also make sure you trim the dead ends. Condition if necessary, don't over style w/heat. And I think you will be fine.

1... keep them clean......when you wash rince it good, leaving no trace of shampoo and conditioner.

2... get some hair vitamins from Walgreen or health store.

3... use coconut oil to massage in the night.

4... remember clipping the ends make hair grow and even length for all hair.

hair is like a plant .if plants dry from ends , they do not grow from roots either.

There are a lot of treatments out there that help out with that. there is a vitamin called hair, nails and skin that is very good for hair growth. There are also hot oil treatments that can help you.

ohh yea
you can drink a lot of milk and I mean A LOT!
you can take Zinc and Biotin
don't cut anything off but the dead ends
apart from that I would just say keep your hair really clean and healthy (scalp too) and that should do the trick

wash it only every other day, or every third day. It doesn;t help it grow, it helps the ends from drying out and breaking off, so it looks longer. Also - don;t blow dry or use curling irons to further damge your locks.
