I think you have a pedophile complex.
If you are not a pedophile, you should just stop worrying about it all together. The more it concerns you the more people will be wary of you.
If you are a nice man and you have the time, energy and money to get candy.... then you will give out candy if or when the doorbell rings. Simple as that.

How sad has this world come to when kids have to pick and choose houses to trick or treat at. I would never tell my child that unless I knew for sure and even then I would say pedophile. But Moms should be smart and go on line or to their local police department and get a list of all the registered sex offenders in their area so their children can avoid those areas. I am sorry you fit into this stereotype. People can be such jerks. Hopefully you give out candy anyway this year because this holiday is really about the kids. Good luck.

I would move. My neighbor is a divorced man and is 62, the guy next to him is also single and in his late 40's and they are the nicest guys in the world, as I'm sure so are you. My boyfriend is 52 and I have my house and he has his. None of them are,or would ever be considered a Pedophile. You must have some ignorant people in your neighborhood. As far as Halloween, I would keep my porch light off and not worry about it, but not every neighborhood is like yours. And Halloween is for the kids, why should they loose out because of the ignorance of some. Good Luck KG

I think it is a stereotype. If you are not doing anything wrong then don't worry about it. You should be old enough to not worry about some little kid on the street and his ignorant parents. As long as you are not inviting little kids into your house so you can wrestle in pumpkin guts and then sip on Jesus Juice then you should not be backed down by the ignorance of others.
You simply have to be vigilant about your actions. Hide nothing. Wave and smile at the kid and his mom no matter how bad you want to kick him off his bike for being ignorant...it is not his fault. His mom apparently is doing a good job of teaching him how to be hateful.

I do feel that u are in a way right. But think about it what if he rode his bike and was then abducted by somoeone. The parernts are just tyring to be safe. This is no excuse for sterotyping but in my house growing up my mother would question my brother if he came in my room. What i am trying to say is parents are overprotective but boycott and don't give out candy.

lol, there are many white single males in my apartment building and i never considered them pedophiles!
that is kinda funny that that kid did that to you, i got a better idea than not giving candy, why not wear a horribly ugly and scary costume on Halloween and scare the living daylights out of the children who are saying that to you.

I think its sad that you have been socially stuck under that title. However, i think its right for parents to take all precautions for their children. Allowing their children to believe that you are a pedophile is wrong however! Maybe have a friend over on Halloween to give out candy with you

Completely Disagree. Men anger me a lot, because I'm a woman and everything seems geared to making men happy, not us.... BUT seriously, you are lying to yourself! If you aren't going to give out candy, go to a movie instead! TREAT YOURSELF to Halloween.... The beauty of it is dressing up and not being able to be recognized! Crash a party if u want... but if Halloween is something you enjoy, do not deprive yourself of it.

no i dont think it is nice to have children calling any adult names. but little kids are going t be out early, on Halloween so stay open for candy till 8pm or so. not all kids are mean, neither are all adults. just a choice few are jerks. dont punish all of the kids for what one kid did.

I completely agree with you. In this day and age people are wrongly accused of stuff like this all the time. Do not give candy, it isnt worth it.
