I have a 8.5 lb spiral cut ham that I want to have for a special dinner tonight at 5:30 pm. I have to leave the house from 12:00 noon to 4:30 ish. Is it possible to to put this fully cooked ham in the oven on 200* at noon to just have it warm or will it get dried out? Should I just put it in for 45 minutes?

Please help me what do you suggest? I don't wnat a dry ham or a burnt down house or a disease infested ham either.

Bacteria grows between the temps of 40-140F. If you have the oven on 200, you're okay. Wrap the ham in foil and put an oven safe pan with some water in the oven too. That will keep it from drying out.

Improper heating or overcooking tends to dry out the ham. Ask for a Neighbor or Relatives help.........45 Minutes isn't long enough to re-heat your ham. Never leave a oven unattended!

A Spiral Ham is already cooked....you just need to re-heat it and apply a glaze to the ham during the last 30 minutes of re-heating.

Fully Cooked Hams Internal Temperatures for Proper Doneness is 140° F.

Warming - Microwave Oven
Remove all packaging material and place ham on microwave safe roasting rack in utility dish. Heat on medium for about 10 minutes per pound, rotating ham every 15 minutes, until internal temperature reaches 130 degrees F.

Warming-Conventional Oven
Place ham in pan with a small amount of water, cover pan tightly with aluminum foil or lid, and heat at 325 degrees F for approximately 12 minutes per pound.

If your Ham is fully cooked ...And is a spiral cut yes it will dry out bad if you leave it in the oven too long...Being fully cooked all you need to do is preheat your oven get it hot and 25 min before you eat warm your ham then...it should not take more than 25 Min's in a preheated oven....it will be safe because it is fully cooked....God bless you ....And I hope your Ham turns out great for you.....um good...

Tent it and add a can of cola to the bottom before you put it in the oven.

It won't be dried out.
