I think you should go for the Toyota, the best model will be Corolla which are considered as the most reliable car. I had both a toyota Corolla and a honda civic (both are about the same size with the option of hatchback or saloon) and at present have a toyota, both use the VVT type engine thus giving you more power and economy. Both are quite reliable but toyota's are more refined, giving you good space, better control driving experience, better engine and above all peace of mind. They say about toyota's that they never break down and its true my one(though its a used model), i am having it more than four years and i use it quite alot, till now have coverd 113k miles but it never needed servicing or any part, everything still is in perfect condition.

Of the two, I prefer Honda. Honda in general puts in more standard features than Toyota. I'd go for the Civic. But be aware that the new model features a dashboard that you might find too "mod" for you. One complaint that seems recurrent (in Yahoo autos) is the price. It's too much for the class, about $20,000 before financing. But the satisfaction surveys are good, as are Toyota's, but Honda seems to squeek ahead for overall quality, safety and owner experience. The Civic's styling is definitely more exciting than the Corolla's

Would you ever consider a Hyundai? After our Honda CR-V, which we love, we got a Hyundai Accent GLS, which I love (the wife is not so crazy about it - it's a label thing). The acceleration is poor, and the power package adds to price, but the *value* might make it more attractive than the Civic. Warranties are reassuring (if not flat-out great), safety is comparable to Civic and Corolla, quality and satisfaction surveys are good, and dealer incentives are deal-makers (at least for us they were).

Honda, Toyota, or Hyundai? It's a win, win, or win.

Hi...I had a Honda Accord and it was the best car I ever had. Great on gas, great everything! Toyota is also a good car, but personally I find Honda better.

My husband is a mechanic and he likes the hondas. You could get a lot of miles out of them and they are good on gas. The honda accord is the best

I have a 1995 honda accord with 183,500 miles and it runs great! My toyota lasted 179,000 miles, not too bad either!

both are great, determine which model meets your needs
if a civic or corolla is the size, both are good, drive them both, see which is more comfortable
I find honda more sporty, toyota more conservative.
