I too came across that thought. But the desolution of the rights you saw was not more of them being stormtroopers, but more of logerhead troopers

There is no comparison between police in the United States versus the Storm Troopers. Commonly known as "Brown Shirts" or the "SA".
The Brownshirts were made up of criminals and thugs. Of course I'm sure someone will remark "Yeah, so are the police" but on a serious note...its like comparing apples and oranges.

I'm sure you know that anyway already. Most people don't toss out the term "storm troopers" without knowing who they were and what they did.
