Some people think "YES!" but I believe that the price you pay is greater than just seeing each other before hand.
It doesn't make it less special, and it doesn't curse anything.
It makes the pictures go by at a faster rate since they are able to take pictures BEFORE the wedding.
My sister-in-law was married and had pictures taken for 3 hours before the ceremony, 1 hour after the ceremony, and 1 hour DURING the reception (meaning they stepped out to go take pictures; no one knew what was going on)
It's more that superstition. It's how you treat your guests.

WHY IT BECAME "BAD LUCK" FOR THE GROOM TO SEE BRIDE BEFORE THE CEREMONY
Until relatively recently, brides were considered the property of their father. Their futures and husbands were arranged without their consent. The marriage of an unattractive woman was often arranged with a prospective groom from another town without either of them having ever seen their prospective spouse. In more than one instance, when the groom saw his future wife, usually dressed in white, for the first time on the day of the wedding, he changed his mind and left the bride at the altar. To prevent this from happening, it became "bad luck" for the groom to see the bride on the day of the wedding prior to the ceremony.

Why this is so is a bit of a mystery, with the most popular guess so far postulating that the build-up to the lady's unveiling at the altar possibly keeps the groom from getting cold feet and rethinking the whole matter. Another explanation speculates that this custom is in some way related to primitive seclusion rites in which a betrothed girl cannot be seen by anyone prior to her wedding lest she pass ill luck to others. (The betrothed are regarded as occupying an in-between stage in life and thus one fraught with potential danger because of its uncertainty.)

Don't worry about that bad luck stuff. I got married on firday the 13th and I was in my wedding dress and I went to the church with my groom (it was a very small wedding). Sure he didn't see me for the first time when I walked up the isle...but he still thought I looked beautiful. We are all still alive and didn't get struck by lightning.

It is not bad luck...you just want that moment to be special to let him see you in your wedding dress and think about how beautiful you look to give yourself to him in the bonds of wedded bliss.

I don't think it is bad luck. I think it's this old wives tale that has been passed down for generations.
Maybe it's a good thing for him not to see you so that you can take his breath away when he sees you walking down the isle, but I don't think luck has anything to do with it.

It is just a traditon and a old wise tail. It is up to you to want to see your soon to be spouse before the wedding, but the tradition says NO don't do it.

It's just a mere oldies belief. Luck only revolves in your own hands. Nothing will ever happen unless you planned for it.
