The Old Law- The Law of Moses- the 10 Commandments are needed today BECAUSE it shows people they have sinned against God. When you have put your faith in Jesus Christ you are no longer under the Law, but under grace! The Law is a mirror to show people they have sinned against God....
Romans 3:20
Therefore no one will be declared righteous in his sight by observing the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of sin.
Romans 7:7
[ Struggling With Sin ] What shall we say, then? Is the law sin? Certainly not! Indeed I would not have known what sin was except through the law. For I would not have known what coveting really was if the law had not said, "Do not covet."
Romans 7:25
Thanks be to God—through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, I myself in my mind am a slave to God's law, but in the sinful nature a slave to the law of sin.
Romans 8:2
because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death.
Romans 6:14
For sin shall not be your master, because you are not under law, but under grace.
Romans 6:15
[ Slaves to Righteousness ] What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? By no means!
-And that is to those who are saved....We are under grace- however that does not mean we should purposely sin thinking we are justified- we are to live a life worthy of the Lord and follow Him! That is why he sent his Holy Spirit to convict us when we do fall into sin....because we have been sealed with the Holy Spirit the day we believe in Jesus Christ!
