most definetly...i run all the time and it helps improve your body all around by losing weight, and gaining muscle in your legs and improving your cardio

yes it can , swimming also helps alot more though swimming and running are the fastest ways to loose weight and to keep it off. those two sports you use all of your body, they are contsantly moving but swimming is better cause your moving but you have to push your way through the water .so you tend to loose it faster,in running you have to get your hart ratre up to a certin # before you can loose anything,in running you should run at least 3-6 miles a day and youll lose it fast and youll get a nice body. i run 4 miles a day plus i swim and i feel great

all weight loss is all over your body there is no such thing as targeted weight loss ( it can seem that way because of the way the body stores fat in some areas but it is just an illusion )

you can target certain areas to build muscle and tone so for upper body you need something in addition to running
