My boyfriend and I are really close and love eachother a lot, but sometimes he says love ya instead of love you. This bothers me because it just seems like he isn't being sincere. Why do guys say that instead of the real thing?

those words mean so much to me because we're in a long distance relationship and I don't get to see him that much at all.

Dont worry about it so much.... us girls are just more emotional about stuff like that. Guys are just not used to opening up and sharing what they really feel. It doesnt mean hes not being sincere thats just his strange little way of saying it.

my boyfriend used to say "Love you: instead of "I love you" all the time. it bothered me cuz it didn't sound as sincere and nice as when he says that. so i finally stopped keeping it inside and i asked him why he said that. he said because it means the same thing, mexican's aren't used to saying I infront of sentences that don't really require it. but he knew that it bothered me, so now he says i love you all the time.
what i'm saying is, talk to him about it. ask him straight up, why do you say that? see what his reasons are for saying that and if it still bothers you than ask him to say the real thing cuz it makes you doubt yourself. don't be afraid to ask. if you're afraid to ask him that one simple request than you're never really going to be able to ask him anything.

good luck

possibilities:

1. He's not a really serious guy and doesn't want to appear soft and vulnerable and all mushy with the "I love you" stuff

2. He actually doesn't love you but he loves YA (Yahoo Answers)! He's saying he'd rather spend time asking and answering questions on the internet.

Why does this bother you? Its one freakin' letter!

He's being sincere, I swear. Quit reading between the lines, because with most guys, there's nothing there to read.

It's the same thing phrased in a different way. It's real as long as it comes from the heart.

Dont get rapped up in the details, if he says he loves YA and you know he does then dont worry about it.

Guys don't take things as seriously as girls do. Especially relationships. It could be that he does love you but it could also be that he's embarrassed to ruin his manly image to let you know that. Especially in front of his friends or other people.
