Once again the current administration has proven to be a politically driven and ineffective head of government. This so called fence is nothing more than an attempt to straddle both sides of the fence they want to try and make anti-illegals feel a little better with the purposed border barrier and on the same note they also want to make pro-illegals feel as if they are getting their message heard by the government by only building a partial barrier.Bottom line is if it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck it's probably a duck.

Its a little of all you just said. Its not a cure, its like a band aid after heart surgery. Nothing more, but it does offer some deterrent for some illegals. It will make them have to work just a little harder in the areas of the fence. The existing fence in CA is doing a good job,the BP stats say arrests are up and attempted crossing are down so it must be somewhat effectual.Only time will tell.In the mean time the Minute Men are rolling right along building their
fence on private land in AZ. They are building it with donations of money, material, and labor. It is a two fence system patterned after the Israeli fences. They received a $ 7 million donation from a Fiber-Optic company and are going full steam ahead. It seems to me that they are the only ones that really care about this nation and its laws.

Do you rather think of a fence is going to stop unlawful border crossing? Do you think of that a individual can't shuttle 701 miles and bypass besides? do you recognize that the border with Mexico is a million,950 miles long and may well be crossed everywhere alongside that's length? Do you think of a 10 foot intense fence will ward off an eleven foot ladder? strengthen up. that's impossible to fence off our borders. Our border with Canada is 5,522 miles long - the longest interior the worldwide. besides, no longer inclusive of Alaska, we've in basic terms approximately thirteen,000 miles of unprotected sea coast. upload Alaska and that's over 23,000 miles. And, what approximately Hawaii? How do you fence off an island. overlook it. Get actual. This "fence" is a huge waste of our money and purely a token gesture to quiet the nervous and ignorant.

The fence is a physical deterrent and a symbol of the border itself. Crossing it makes a person automatically a criminal. It has already caused a reduction in illegal entry.
The fence is only a part of the network in place to deter or apprehend illegal invaders.
There is a 'virtual fence' being put in place (cameras monitored by patrols, motion sensors, aerial surveillance, etc. done by Boeing) which is another part of controlling our borders
Border Patrol is strengthened
Minutemen will continue patrolling and building the fence.
Illegals won't be hired
Illegals won't get housing
Illegals no longer are allowed to get welfare, food stamps, free or low cost medical (only ER aid)
Illegals can no longer get a drivers license
Illegals are being deported due to raids on companies that hire them.
Illegals days are numbered.
Our fence will be built because Americans are building it AND funding it!!
We won't "keep people out", nor "keep people in." We will CONTROL who comes in. That is something ALL countries do. WE have that RIGHT!! They will require a passport or other legal document (Greencare, visa, etc).

It is just a political smoke screen wasting the hard earned tax payers money. Remember ancient China built the longest "Great Wall of China" to keep the Mongols out and it failed because of a corrupt government. The more recent examples are the Berlin Wall and the Palestinian Wall built by the Israelis have all failed. President George Bush Jr. should take some history lessions.

I think it is largely symbolic. Its a way of telling Mexico that our country will no longer tolerate caring for the people they should be caring for and sending them money. The area where the fence will be built is one of the most high traffic areas, and walls elsewhere have largely reduced illegal immigration, so they DO help. It will set an example for areas who are undecided on the issue.

It does seem insufficient to leave that much of the border open. My guess is that the wall is only going around pieces of the border closest to cities?
I kind of think the wall is like putting a band aid on a wound.
Why are these illegal aliens traitors to their countries by abandoning it for America? That is the source of the problem.

It's funny how you mention "tax payers"... Let's build a fence around the whole country and don't let anyone in ... and let's wait and see how our economy drops .. Bet we don't think of that. There are millions of people who come to the US in a daily basis and shop in our stores and eat in our restaurants. It may sound unbelievable but a good 90% of this people come and pay taxes ... our taxes. But I encourage you to close the doors to immigrants that way they don't have to be the ones to fight our wars. Because even though one of the first things that Bush said when he became president was that he wanted to get rid of immigrants ... they came in pretty handy since he first sent Latinos to HIS war. Now, keep in mind that not only the Mexicans are coming over ... they come from Mexico but most of them are natives from South America. We whine so much about the jobs they take away from us... could it be because they work harder and demand less?

I don't think a fence will help but we can build as much as we can and have armed men at the open spots ready to shoot and kill without asking questions. If the illegals come across their fellow illegals bodies rotting at the border, maybe they will turn around and go back.
