sorry for the mistake, me and my bf have been dating for a year and eight months, we love each other very much and would like to get married but we arent sure if it is to early to get engaged seeing that i am 21 and he is 22,

Relax, there is no right time. I got married when I was 21 and it's worked out well for my husband and I! I think what makes the difference is whether or not you both feel ready for that type of commitment, and it sounds like you 2 are. I had a lot of people approach me and try to talk me out of it. Not because of who he was but because they all thought I was too young. These days the trend seems to be to stay single until you've established a career. 30 years ago the trend was to marry young. I think it all comes down to how you 2 feel and whether or not you can realistically support each other. Either way congratulations on your engagement!!!!!! I wish you two the best. ;)

The right time when both of you feel that you are ready for the committment of marriage. That you have explored all other area's before committment. For example have you dated other people before you met. Are you both feeling that you are prepared to get married for better or worse. Work together as a family. Work Together when you have children. Are you ready to support each other no matter what, even when times get tough?
What are your goals after marriage? Buy a house, continue on in education then buy a home? ect.. ect....
When do you plan on becoming parents. Right away or will you be waiting?
How many kids do you want to have together?These are all things to talk about before committment.
Will both of you take jobs or will one support the other finacially. Make your plans, think about, revisit your goals with each other again, sit on it.
Do either one of you have huge debts? If yes how do you plan on budgeting and paying for it. Finances are a big issue in marriage be prepared finacially.
In ending only you and your boyfriend will KNOW when it is time to get married.
May I also advise you don't put yourselves in debt if you do get married. Far better for you to use the money you save towards a down payment on a home.

If the two of you are in love and want to spend the rest of your lives together then it is the right time. I was 18 when i got engaged and others frowned upon it cuz i was so young. But we're doing fine and are still in love. Dont let anyone tell you you're too young to be married. Do what you feel is right and you will be fine. Good Luck!

sure, you can get engaged if your totally committed to each other. but your both young and have not experienced life yet. if you do get engaged, you don't have to get married for a while. you might find out that your not right for each other sometime later on. I'd say live life a little. but, if you want to stay together, then more power to you.

I would say that a year and 8 months isnt that soon. I think you should get engaged now.
If you had been together for 2 months then it would be a lot different, but 20months is ok. Go for is. and many congratulations.

you can get engaged, the longer you're engaged the better it will be. being engaged doesn't mean you have to get married in a few months, you can be engaged for a few years.

hey. if u love each other n wana spend the rest of ur life wiv each other go ahead!! trust me if u love sum1 enough n wn be with them i say u should get engaged n stuff if yor both ready.
