Beautiful. They're stodgy comfort food for cold wet windy winter's nights, split, toasted, and served with lashings of real salty butter, melting and oozing all over them, with a piping hot cup of tea, or a hot toddy!! Just like a more substantial version of crumpets! As with any food, it's a case of balance and moderation, but in the winter, when we need that extra stodge because of the bitter weather and we need comfort food because of the dark nights and mornings, they're perfect every now and again. And they're no worse than ordinary bread!

I think they are quite high in butter content as well, but I could be wrong, I would say they are full of carbs, the same as bread, so good for a treat but not every day.

I would imagine they are no different in carbs then white bread. I think they taste great with butter and honey - what a fun treat! :)

They usually have high fructose corn syrup, believe it or not. that's the addictive thing that is bad for health and causes cravings. It even causes bad behaviors in some people.
