I'm going as a 70's punkrocker.
My hair is curly but I just blowdried it, so its striaght now.The thing is I want to style it as a mohawk without having to shave-off the sides of my head. I put on strong hold gel and blowdried but nothing worked!
Please help me!..mind you I live in the UAE, so it would help if you knew where I can find hair gel.
Thanks.

Screw the hair gel. Back in the 70s they never used gel, yes I am dating myself, mix up a concoction of clear geletin, which is jello into a paste and use that. Hard as hell when dried. You may have to use a blowdryer to dry it up. If that doesn't work mix up sugar and water and try that also. What I would do is try just strands so you don't have to dry your hair if it doesn't work.
The idea I would have wouldn't be a mohawk because like you said..you would have to shave the sides off. How about spikes and then colour each spike differently. Or you can have a double mohawk one on each side. I have seen that before also!!

Style your hair in fashion that was used by Diana, she used to drift hair hair apart and it even looked a bit sticky.

You could make a Spiked hairdo.

How do the greasers in UAE look?

Maybe you should skip the mohawk and feather it out really big. Or perfectly straight. What exactly are you going as?

You can have a fauxhawk. (Pronounced fow - hawk). Its is more feminine version of a mowhawk - with hair on the sides.

In that pic, she has hair on the sides of her mowhawk, but the hair on the sides is combed back.
