Hi. There is an old saying that goes; "Don't buy a station wagon if you don't need one. " Can anyone tell me if this is true and why? I'm looking for a used car now. (Something cheap for $400 to $800 or so to get me around for one year. Thanks, Westbound.

If it runs well, it will get you from point A to point B. Who cares what it is :-)

ford escort station wagons, get close to 40 MPG, and you have the room if you need it,, people are stupid,, do your own research,, most people do not realize a car is to get you from Point A to Point B, dont matter what it looks like as long as it is damn reliable,

Another old saying goes "Don't buy a car if you don't need one." Look in classifieds, used car dealers and online. Good Luck.
