Best ever. In fact if you can go to a higher apartment and it will be even better. The more you can do now the better health they and you will be in later. Trouble with most is they don't want to do the exercise and die young when they could live to 100 if they would just move instead of taking the easy road of just sitting or take the elevator all the time.

This is unbeliveably good for your children's health. The only people who's health it is bad for are people who have injuries that make stairs bad--like knee injuries, or older people for who a fall would be both more likely and more dangerous than it would be for most people.
Walking up and down stairs for fifteen minutes straight is as much of a workout as an hour of walking on flat ground. In addition to aerobic health, stairs also build leg strength.

I would say it is good for all of you! When I lived in an upstairs apartment, I lost 40 lbs! Stairs are great exercise. If the kids aren't complaining, then I wouldn't worry about it. You may want to ask your pediatrician about the effect it may have on their knees though.

Any type of physical activity will be good for anyone. I'd be a little nervous about a 3 yr old having to climb so many stairs but it's not bad for them. I would just worry about them tumbling.

so many today (adult and children) are overweight and out of shape partly due to lack of exercise. you have it built in. there are probably days when it won't feel the best but hey people are paying money to use stairclimbers at exercise centers. in europe i knew many who lived way up and climb everyday (some in their 80's) they were in better shape than i was and i was at the time 50 years younger than them. make it a game for them and you. and unless there is a medical reason you haven't stated how would it be bad to get exercise.
