I think it's because women tend to think less of themselves and when they have a boyfriend or a significant other of any kind they are really afraid of losing that person. So, they tend to be jealous in effort to keep the person around when they really don't need to be jealous at all. It's kind of like a vicious cycle that girls go through. They are also jealous because they've been cheated on or hurt in some other way and are skeptical to think someone really loves them. That all being said, not all girls are jealous.

I can tell you why I am a jealous woman. My dad was not in my life growing up so when I get the attention of a man I don't want anyone else to have it. Furthermore, I am jealous at this moment because I am really in love with this boy and when I see him with another woman it makes me feel insecure like I was not good enough. I feel that is a possibility why most woman are jealous, especially if they feel like me half the time.

Thats not true. Have you watched the news and seen these men either killing their girlfriends or ( can we say domestic violence on a mans part of being JEALOUS). Maybe young girls in SCHOOL, are jealous of a boy or another girl. But in the adult world, watch the news or read the paper, there's more violence in jealousy from men than women.

I dont think its that women are more jealous I think its that men give women lots more to worry and be paranoid about.

Because we are more jealous of emotional intimacy which we see in many many different ways. I don't care if my guy looks at a hot chick I will even joke with him about it but the idea of him being affectionate or overtly flirting with someone else makes me sick to my stomach.

It is my opinion that women are more detail oriented, therefor causing them to pick up on details that make them tend to be more jealous than men

because women sometimes are more insecure than men are therefore they atake it out as jealousy. it also has to do with self esteem which many girls and women lack therefore making them more voulnerable to being jealous more easily. they aslos have more insecurities and take things more seriously.
