Or would they be able to handle it and go on with their lives happily? Telling my how many religious people like to ignore science and hate any openmindedness of daring to question religion, I wonder...lol

I think that they would deny the non-existence of their deity. Many have stuck to irrational beleifs through so much proof against them, even if their God denied his existence (paradox) they would say that he was a demon pretending to be their god.

All people can go through depression or whatever and become suicidal....Christians are not exempt from all kinds of problems...and most of us react with faith and hope when we go thorugh trials and problems, however some people lose their faith during those times. And unfortunately, some do commit suicide....just as they do in the larger population....

I love science....I did science fair projects in schoot on Pheromones...(the way some insects and animals communicate through chemical scents that leave trails etc.) and on DNA....in all of my projects, I took high honors and went to the county and on the the state science fairs of that day. I think science reveals the glory of God the way few other studies are capable of.

I also am not a Christain who just swallows any doctrine or church tradition that comes down the road at me. My basic premise is that God Is Love and therefore we are each unique and precious in our own way, because we are made in His image and likeness.

There are Christians that give Christianity a bad name....because they sometimes exclude people from salvation by being judgemental and biased....but there are always members of every religious group...no matter what it is...that can give that experience a bad image by their actions.

Being a Christian makes me a better person....but not a "better than" person....I know that every single person on the planet is precious in God's sight and each one of us has a purpose to be here....whether we realize it or not. I can disagree with your beliefs....but I know that you have a right to search and to find a God...or to be an atheist if you choose. That doesn't mean I should stand in judgement of you....you will rise or fall before your own beliefs...not mine.

Whether there is or isn't a God, it takes about five minutes to prove that the 'God of Abraham' doesn't exist and that all of religion is a sham produced by power figures and still perpetrated by today's authorities.

Would masses of believers end their lives if they found out that this life is all they have, and how they treat others will determine the quality of it? I don't know. I doubt it. People are resilient and flexible, which is how we are succeeding evolutionarily. I think people would spend a few visits on the couch at a psychologist's office angry with their parents over having perpetrated more Santa Claus type mythology on them, and then get on with their lives.

I doubt that you would ever be able to prove that there is no God, so they will use your non-proof as proof there is a God. It's an impossible question, but if somehow it was proved there was no God, those people would find another thing to believe in. Being without someone/something watching over them and guiding them through life would be very scary for some, they would not be happy until they found a replacement.

If I am proven wrong in my belief of God's existence, I would be disappointed and wonder why millions of people for thousands of years have talked about Him as such. There would be no reason to kill myself over this. Life is life and I would still want to live to see my son grow up, be with my family and friends, to learn new things, meet new people, travel, etc. Instead of reading the Bible daily and trying to find out more about God's plan for salvation, I would be reading all the info I can about the proof of His non-existence and the years of deceit handed down through the generations. And I would talk with my Jewish and Islamic friends about it all.

I read about science often, I research things I don't understand and wonder about. I am VERY openminded and willing to have non-argumentative conversations about anything, with anyone at any time. I think that believing in God, or a god, and putting your whole trust in Him is being more openminded than not. Trusting only humans that have a long history of lying, stealing, hurting, abusing, cheating, and trusting in only myself is more scarier to me and more closeminded. I never hide behind my faith, God doesn't allow that. But my faith gives me strength to weather through the hard times and be thankful for the good ones.

If God didn't exist and there came to be no religions at all, suicide would still be a weak reason to chicken out on life, don't you think? Animals don't believe in God and none of them commit suicide.

I do not know anyone who ignores science. As a matter of fact, God gave us the intelligence so that we could understand and explore science. If you know the facts...many people set out to prove God did not exist by using science...they came to find God. Evolution is proven that it is not true. There are too many holes in the theories. God is real. All eyes shall see God, all knees shall bend, and all mouths shall confess that he is Lord. The truth is not determined by how many believe in it or not. We would not exist if it were not for God...therefore the suicide theory is wrong too. Don't be too open minded or your brains may fall out. God wants to be Christ minded...not worldly minded. If you want to learn about God...I as well as many others on Y answers would love to minister to you. If you want to slam God...be careful dear brothers & sisters... God will see and hear...you will reap what you sow. It seems that you are angry at God. Please, realize that Satan has twisted your thinking. He has distorted the truth. He comes to twist the truth and destroy mankind...do not fall for his foolish traps. Be wise. Soften your heart and soul...replace the hate with love and understanding. God loves you and so do we.

Yes, masses would still commit suicide.

There are many cults/religions that do not believe in a god that suffer from irrational and dangerous beliefs. The famous Heaven's Gate cult that committed mass suicide in 1997 believed in UFOs not gods.

Even atheists suffer from irrational and dangerous beliefs. Being an atheist just means that you do not believe in a god or gods... you can believe in any other insane idea.

If God does not exist, then waht is right and what is wrong ?
If it is a matter of Opinion, Who's?
If it is decided by society, How?
take both questions all the way back to the beginning of recorded human history and answer.

And also, Christians do not ignore Science, quite the contrary, it is not just faith it is science, wether you choose to believe or accept it or not.

Well...science has not been able to prove that God doesnt exist.

Because science is only what man has learned in his feeble lifetime on earth.

Man thinks he knows everything there is to know about something at any given time, when the people who are hallmarks of modern science have professed that man does not know much about the universe and what is around.

You should know better too.

And personally, Gods existence is proven to those who are willing to listen to their hearts, much like the people who were willing to listen to scientists who claimed the earth was round.

It's hard to say. I think if that turned out to be the case, they would all go insane because their minds just wouldn't be able to handle it.

I've had a few uber-religious friends tell me that God was the only reason they had for living. I felt really sorry for them, but let them have their beliefs. If it's all they feel they have, why take it from them? It would seem kind of mean to do that, like kicking the crutches out from under a person with a broken leg.

There really is a God so this would not be an issue as you pose. However, there is another issue that I would like to point out. Where there is no Faith, there is no Hope. Where there is no Hope, there is no Love. Where there is no Love, there is no Vision; And where there is no Vision, People Die.

So, you may extrapolate that; Where there is no God, People Die and there you have it. Only people would not be killing themselves so much but rather they would be killing one another and isn't that what is going on in the world right now?
