I ask this because a lot of parents in the inner city do not watch their kids. Here they are wandering everywhere. With the increase of drugs and violence, there is an increase of dangers placed upon kids. So if you saw a child in danger, would you try to help, even if it could cost you your own life?

I am a single mother, and I would risk my life to save a child. No doubt. Children are our future. And really, I am shocked how some people can honestly say they wouldn't help. HOW COULD YOU WATCH, without helping.....If I seen a child in danger, I would hate to live with the guilt that I COULD HAVE done something to save them.....How could you not? That would be like walking past a swimming pool, with a child bobbing, gasping for air...and you just keep going, because, hey...you can't swim very well...so why risk it? Sorry....just doesn't cut it for me!! I can't swim well....But hey...I'm jumping in!!!

There are different degrees of how much I'd help. For instance, if I could help a child stay off of drugs or something, I would do what I could. On the other hand, if a child was about to get hit by a bus, I probably wouldn't jump out in front of it to spare the child's life. The way I see it, I have a wife and 2 year old child myself. So I'd really be hurting my family to save this child's life.

I honestly don't know. People are weird about others helping them. I'd like to think that I would, but many parents wouldn't be appreciative and would only be angry that you touched their child. Not ALL parents, but some. People are hard to judge. I'd like to think I'd do this for anybody, not just kids. It would also depend if I actually thought I could help, I guess. Risking my life for a sure thing is much different than risking my life for nothing.

Hard to say about risking death but certainly I would do all that I can to protect and help the child. There are many ways of helping without risking one's own life. A prudent and practical step taken timely can help anyone in distress than bravado.

I have children of my own that need me. I would try to intervene, but not if I knew that it would cost my life. Before having my children though, I would have done anything to help or save the child. Now I must think of their saftey, and as I probably would have them with me when it happened, I couldnt leave them alone now could I?

If it was my child, no question I would do anything to save them. Other people's kid, I don't know. By doing so, I would essentially be turning my back on my own children. Can't really answer for sure. I guess it would come down to my thoughts and what is going on in that instant.

its hard to say unless i was in that situation. I probably would if it came down to it but just sitting here thinking about it i would probably say no because i have 2 children that i would be leaving behind to risk my life for another. If it was my own child, definetly. but someone elses, I would do everything i could without risking my own life.

I don't know, I'm a pretty big wimp. But it's hard to say what I'd do in a situation like that, I can't even imagine how I'd feel. I had a friend in elemetary school who drowned trying to save his brother. I thought that was the most unselfish thing I'd ever heard of.

Yes, I would. I would not be able to live with myself if a kid was killed or seriously hurt because I did nothing when I could have done something.
