For the past couple weeks, I've had sort of an insomnia thing going on. Last week alone, I was up at 1:30 Wednesday night and was unable to go to sleep. Friday night I was up at 12:30 and it took over 3 hours before I could sleep again. This morning, I was up at 3:30. Has anyone else had this happen? How did you handle it? I'm trying to work right up until I have the baby, but it's hard to do when all you want to do is go back to bed. Any suggestions?

I had the same thing going on with my last pregnancy. For the last 2 months, I was up for like 3 hours every night. It is totally normal. Some docs will tell you it is just your body getting ready for when you have the baby! I ended up quitting my job at 35 weeks because of it. I just couldn't handle working on no sleep (I worked in a daycare center so falling asleep was a really bad idea!lol). The only suggestion that I would be able to give you is to stop working and get as much rest during the day that you can, or maybe go to part time if you are able to. Only a few more weeks and you won't have that problem anymore, except for the baby keeping you up! Good luck to you.

my baby is 4 1/2 months old and the last month of my pregnany i couldnt sleep either. is it possible for you to take a nap when you get home for the day or maybe on the weekends. drink a cup of tea or warm milk, take a bath to help you unwind. it is important to try and get all the sleep you can now because in a few weeks you are going to really be tired!

Some doctors suggest Tylenol PM, but it really all depends on your pregnancy... But I'd call the doctor and see what they had to say, they may know something that could work even better... Have you tried taking warm baths? With my pregnancy I took warm baths and used bath salts, or the lavender & chamomile baby wash to make a bubble bath... Good Luck! Hope you get some rest!

I am 35 weeks and have the same trouble. My doctor says that insomnia is common, and she suggested tylnolel PM to sleep. If you are uncomfortable sleeping, and wake up, it's hard to go back to sleep.

My ex had the same problem with both of our children. And her doctor said that It was normal in some cases, that depending on the person, your horimones get all screwed up from and 32 weeks to 40 weeks and it will pass.
