if u wanna do projct on ur own, may b visiting sites as d first ans given may hlp..but thr r certain topics r areas whr u can apply asp.net
1. customizing / online call support (like call center work thru mail...)
2. dont pls do "online shopping type prj" as everyone whomever plans or given to do a prj in asp.net focusses dis alone..
3. go ahead in searching some real time prjcts...
4. a simple asp.net project in giving out a particular place or town's all local info like bus routes, numbers, helplines, hosp, schools, colleges, tution centers, shops, such lik contacts...n many more...(suits for ur own prjct u wanna develop)
5. if u wanna ur prjct for ur academic, u hav to approach a company n do work on it...dats possess a high scale of respect in ur project
6 for in such case, u may visit "www.msapp.net" - microsoft projects india...
its a site, from microsoft, giving out prjs to regular academic students on several areas..visit n explore, may find lots of info regarding dat n for ur prj
