When should we send the shower invites? We have some guests that live about 2 hours away. Also, should co-worker be invited to the actual shower because they will probably do something at work as well. i dont want them to feel like they have to buy 2 gifts.

bridal shower invites should be sent out 4-6 weeks prior to the event. as for the coworker, why not call and ask them what they are doing? maybe they would like to participate, or maybe they dont have anything planned. simple communication would solve this dilemma

Bridal shower invites should be sent out at least 3 weeks ahead.

If you are really close to some of your co-workers (someone you deal with on the regular outside from work), then you could invite them to your other shower in addition to what they may be doing for you already at work. You can make it clear to them by simply stating that you consider them a friend and you just want them present with you there to have a good time and that a gift is not necessary.

Shower invites need to go out no later than two weeks before the day of the shower, and since you have out of town guests, I'd send them out about a month before. As far as co-workers it's kind of a toss-up. If you know for sure they're doing something at work, then I wouldnt worry about it, unless you're exceptionally close to someone then maybe I would but you could discuss that they didnt need to purchase 2 gifts. My best friend had three showers, and I got married a couple months after she did. I couldnt afford to purchase multiple gifts so I simply only bought one, and just had to attend empty handed to one of the showers and I provided all the food for the other (she understood that was my contribution). Good friends will always understand.

A few weeks... a month at most, IMO, unless there are out-of-town guests you want to let know early. People's plans often change, and frankly the bridal shower is not as important as the wedding. Oftentimes people have to choose between the two if they are from out of town. BTW, with lots of out of town guests, send the invites MINIMUM 3 months in advance. Plane tickets are extremely expensive 4-6 weeks out. I have MULTIPLE times declined to go to an out-of-state wedding because the couple did not give guests enough time to make plans.

I would send it out like the wedding announcements - about 6 weeks before the event. This gives them plenty of time to buy gifts and prepare. As far as co-workers go, I wouldn't invite them because if they're going to do something for you at work, that's enough. Have fun!!

I'd say about 3-4 weeks in advance. Any earlier and people might forget about it. As for the coworker, if they're close, invite them! They may turn one shower down because of the gift thing, but I hope they'll do it politely, and don't take offense to that if they've proverbially "given at the office."

Have fun hon!

2-3 weeks in advance. If there is going to be one at work, you might want to consider not inviting your co-worker to the other one as they probably will feel obligated to give 2 presents. Most people don't want to go to gift-giving opportunities empty-handed.

A month is sufficient. Give workers invite regardless of what they do at work so they will not be offended.
