You can believe that the moral message of the Bible is true, even if you don't believe its historical accuracy. That was what Ben Franklin himself believed, as a matter of fact.

Sure, just don't be a literalist about it. Understand it for what it is best seen as -- an alegorical tale containing truths.
Imagine this:
> Moses: God, the people demand to know from whence we came.
> God: I was afraid of that. Ooookay. You're about to get a crash course on quantum physics. First, there is the Heisenburg uncertainty principle, no worries, he's not been born yet but you need to know the principle. You can't measure any one value of a conjugate pair without randomly affecting the other value. So truly empty space is a no-go, it would be absolutely determinable. So you have this vacuum energy, seething just at the level of reality. Now, because of that uncertainty principle, from time to time certain fluctuations can come into being that are large enough to force the underlying vacua to collapse to a lower energy state, and when this happens, the potential energy is released as a massive and superluminal release of particles and spacetime. Then we get into planetary formation...
[God continues for a few hours, Moses' face growing more and more blank with each passing moment.]
now try this scenario:
> God: I know that I wanted my chosen, Moses, so I knew you needed a place. I created everything Moses, the first light, the earth, the birds of the air, the fish of the sea, the beasts of the land, and then when everything was ready, I created you. The truth is, Moses, I created. Compared to that, why are the details important?
Remember, Moses was from a prescientific people who didn't even go much beyond addition and subtraction -- how could he POSSIBLY have understood integration over eleven-dimensional space?
----
added:
Christians: All your god are belong to us. You are on the way to hell.
Everyone Else: What you say?
Christians: You have no chance to redeem make your time
Christians: Ha Ha Ha Ha ...

You'd have a bit of difficulty.
Jesus's teachings as they were don't exist any more.... and we can only guess at what they really were. All that is left is the bible.... and that at the very least involves a lot of time degradation and transcription + translation errors...
You can guess at the example Jesus actually set... but thats the best you can do, as rest assured what is written in the bible is nothing like the truth (any more than global floods and talking snakes are anything like the truth). The bible is the Zero Wing intro of books... Its just a joke....

Jesus believed in the ' stupid flood junk' . Anyone familiar with Matthew chapter 24 v 36- 42 ( see 37 ) would know that.
By not understanding the significance of the snake lying to Eve you can not fully understad why Jesus had to come down to earth and prove that it is Satan who is the liar. John 8 v44
You do not understand all the issues yet. Worship God not jesus. Jesus is the head of the congregation.

To follow Jesus, dear one, you will have to first believe and accept Him, and when you do He will give you a hunger and thirst for the bible, you will see the bible as the True inspired Word of the Living God. You think of it as "junk" now but when you accept Christ you will be given eyes to see and ears to hear, and when you do that "junk" will be the greatest treasure ever known. Believe me, I was there at one time thinking the bible was crazy and filled with crazy un-related junk. Now it is my milk and honey.

The truth is integral it all goes together like a seamless garment, cut it here, tear it there and the whole of it begins to unravel. its like taking a stone out of the arch or putting a hole in a ship. Before you know the arch falls, the boat sinks. leave out any part of the truth you run a terrible risk of taking of leaving out other parts of it and pretty soon you'll be flying a plane without a compass and you won't know where your going. The truth who is God, Jesus, the Churches teachings, the Bible it all goes together, why? because God IS truth. God Bless

How do you think you can follow Jesus without believing the Bible? The Bible is the word of God. The question is kind of silly. To follow Jesus you must believe in the Bible, and abide by Gods word.
