I am in the tenth grade, and we are two months into school. One would think after already going to school for 10 years, this problem would not be happening but it is. I feel like i dont want to leave my parents, and leave the comfort of home. I just want to grab my quilt, bring it to the couch, and watch tv. Its like the first day over and over again, everyday. So far, i go to school 3 hours late, missing 3 classes because i can get more time at home. I dont know what i am afraid of, but it is tearing me apart, and i dont want to deal with anything like this, Also school isn the best of places either. I cant make any friends, in some of my classes, and i have this body odor problem. I feel like i am giving the other students a hard time with my body odor, and i also feel sad when i see students covering there nose. Students probably think i dont take showers, but i do and am very clean. I am a normal indian kid, i have a couple advanced classes, and i am slacking off. plz respond:(

Well first off get some really strong deoderant because no one wants to be or be around the smelly kid, i am sorry dear but its the truth.

Nextly i understand why you don't like going to school if you have no friends. You need to be friendly and try to talk to you classmates it will make it easier to go to school in the morning.

Best wishes. : )

It seems you already know what your problems are. Thats good. Being in tenth grade myself, I can empathize. While I myself don't know anything about the body odor problem, I could bet my bottom dollar a good doctor would know how to help you with that. Go see the doctor, even though it is embarrasing to get into the air, the doctor has seen a lot wackier, I promise (unless he is a loser doctor, and then you need no worry about him, cause he is a loser.) Next on the list, missing classes is unexcusable. You will get what you give. It's a cliche, but it is very true. If you try at life, life will try at you ,and you'll reap the benefits. As for not having friends in certain classes, I know how you feel. We have four classes a day, and I feel like I have very few friends in most of them. Slacking off during school is also unacceptable.(Sorry, I am just kinda jumping around with my advice.) We all do it sometimes, but if it is just the workload, take easier classes, they have easier workloads. Oh, by the way, your smell may not be you, it could be your clothes. By the way, I see you said you don't wanna deal with it. You're just not gonna get any give on that one. I have to say, you're gonna have to deal with it, and it is gonna be hard. The good news is, if you overcome it, everything in life becomes a lot, a lot better. Trust me, we all have these problems, even the popular kids. I promise. Just work at what you want. If this irrational fear doesn't become better after, let's say, two months, then you should seek proffessional help. A psychiatrist could help you, a psychologist, even a theapist. However, things will not get better unless you work and hard. YOU have to be the one to make things better, don't wait around for a hero, he's not gonna come. Save yourself! Oh, and by the way......GOOD LUCK.

Are you a Cancerian who normally shrink into its shell when offended? If not, thats what you are doing. Your body odour has lead you to this seclusion and evasion of calsses. Basically I know that you like school, you like to socialize and be jovial. More than your friends telling you about the odour, you feel more nauseous about it and worries over it. That makes you sensitive and you withdraw to your shell. Dont tell me that you are late in school because you love your home ...it is just because you spend as little time in the class .
Consult a good dermatologist, tell your problems. look for any anomaly of the LIVER or Kidneys and take some medicines prescribed by him/her. Body odour can be masked by several external applications and you can starigt away start on them.Being an India makes your inferiority complex more,Why should you be? Be proud to be an Indian!! Your intellectual skills are normally much more than even the native Americans or Jews for that matter.. Try some Ayurvedic oils. and some yoga exercises. I think you will be alright soon!! Eloping from public is not a solution for anything dear!!!

Call a mental health counselor, before this problem evolves into a more complicated and damaging phenomenon in your life.

You might consider home schooling until you find the right deodorant, figure out that your "aroma" is not so serious, or find some other solution.

Also, now there are fabrics which absorb smells, including human sweat, etc. Cologne or perfume might help as well.

If you live in the U.K., U.S., or other Anglo-dominant area, you may be experiencing a normal phenomenon, in which non-Indians smell the by-product of certain spices you take in your foods. This should not really be a problem, but some intolerant non-Indians make it one. Of course, you could alter your diet, but then again, the Americans are finding their diet is creating a nation of obese and malnutritioned people.

As I said, discuss this with a certified counselor.

Well your first problem is very simple....B.O....take a shower every day. You will feel much better and others will look at you differently. Comb your hair, wear nice clothes, and keep clean. Second issue: depression. Sounds like you are depressed. This could be because you feel that you don't have any friends. Well I think the B.O. issue as alot to do with that, so once you get into your DAILY shower routine, this will improve. Sounds like you're a smart kid...go to school and show them all how smart you really are! Good luck, and you may want to talk to your school counselor. They really do help a lot...make a special appt. with him/her..they are there to help you! Use them!

You should be evaluated for Anxiety. My nephew had a hard time with it, it started when he was 14 y.o. It runs in his family, so his Mom took him to the Dr. as soon as he described what he was feeling - which is very similar to what you are saying.
You can treat anxiety w/ therapy and pharmaceuticals and it makes a huge improvement on your day to day life.
Good Luck.
remember - high school is only 4 years of your life - it just keeps getting better after that.
