My husband and I moved into our new home in mid-May. We always planned on having a "Thank you Open House" after we got 'settled', to thank all those from our church who helped us with packing, painting, babysitting our kids, and moving.
Now it is almost November, and I have kept putting it off because I wanted to wait until I had everything in my home decorated and set up just perfectly. But I realize now, that this would take years. So I want to do the Open house NOW.
Am I already past the timeframe to do it in good taste?

No, it isn't too late. Have the thank you party and maybe send out special thank you cards to those who helped you the most, if you hadn't done that already. Also be sure that when someone needs help with the same things, that you do everything in your power to help them. Especially if they are the ones who helped you.

Why not have a "Thanks Giving" open house theme
Put on the invite that it has taken a bit longer to settle in and get organized, but you would like to take this time of year and the holiday season to invite people over for drinks and to thank everyone for their efforts

It's better late than never, definitely applies here!

It Is never too late. Most people have a thank you party or send out cards within 6 months of any occasion. Invite every body over for a BBQ let them know it is for your appreciation of all the help they gave when you needed them.

It should have been sooner. But it is never too late to say thank you. So have the party and have a good time.
