I’m blond, and my GF is a blue-eyed brunette. I hate the sun! I try to stay indoors as much as I can, except at night. My GF loves to tan, and she’s always complaining about my pale complexion. Two months ago she went to the beach to get tanned, and I just hated the way she looked, she’s finally looking 0K, she lost her tan, but now she wants to go back to the beach because she says she needs tan and I do too. I hate tanned skin, I looks like damaged skin to me, it doesn’t look healthy, it’s like you are purposely killing it.
I tell her, I’m not going to the beach:
1.- I’m not going to lay in the sun so I can increase my chances of skin cancer.
2.- I’m not going to purposely get premature aging
3.- I’m not going to purpose kill skin cells.
She says she feels sexiest when she’s tanned; I think she looks like she’s recovering from first-degree burns.

How can I convince her, tanning is not healthy, and it’s not sexy???????

Your girlfriend much look at too many "models". first of all, most of the fashion modles and actors do not get "tanned" from the sun as they don't want the effects you mentioned above. One thing she can do is go to www.Melaleuca.com, who makes all of Nicole Miller's Cosmetics (famous NY Fashion Model) where she can purchase sun-free tanner that won't turn her skin orange or leave a mess on her hands. Nicole Miller cosmetics and skin care is ONLY available through Melaleuca as when she started her skin care and cosmetic line, she was a long-time customer and recognized that they use only safe and natural ingredients in their skin care/cosmetics and the vitamins are encapsulated in her products and only become active when they touch the skin, not just mixed into the cosmetics so the company can say they put vitamins in them. This is completely safe and I personally have used some of the towelettes (tanning) after being sick for about 6 months, just to give my face some color (not PALE).
Natural is best, but if she insists on "tanning" be sure she does not go to the tanning salons--they are so very dangerous, and some of the results are not reversable. Nicole Miller has a botique in NY, but does not sell her cosmetics there. Have her check it out. (For lack of wanting to create a disturbance with her, this is a viable option that will not harm her or you).

I'm living in Australia which has a big beach community. It's also home of the highest rate of skin cancer in the world. Tell her it's just a matter of time. A tan is just a giant scar.

Tell her that spending a lot of time in the sun will make her get more wrinkles sooner when she gets older. She won't feel sexy with all those wrinkles.
Maybe you or someone can suggest a tan lotion that makes it looks natural instead of orange---she can have the look of the tan without the danger associated with it.

If the skin cancer thing and the premature aging thing don't scare her, then she's hooked, and won't stop until it happens.

You can't just like she can not convince you look better tanned.
I think you should go your separate ways before it gets worse.

Just tell her that it is not a sexy look. Just be aware that it might backfire a bit.
