Registration fees are a tax. This is why we must pay them every year. The money goes into the highway fund to help pay for building new roads and repairing the roads we already have.

You don't have to pay it every year, only the years you are actually operating it on the public roads. Think of it as a "pay as you go" fee. And no, the moneys collected are to help keep the roads safe, not just a way to "bilk" you out of money.

in Missouri we can get two year tags but you get charged for two years. Think of it this way, if you pay your registration and you drive on crappy roads then you have every right to ***** and moan about it. especially when its time to vote.
