I lost my brother who died sveral years ago, so now I have no siblings at all - only my mom and father.
I know the guy who is in similar situation that is he also lost his only brother and has no siblings. My question is can we legally become brothers? I mean can we do some type of paper work, legal prosedures etc to become legal brothers? Thank you

I believe their is a legal remedy called adoption which is precisely what will make you legally step-brothers,either his or your parents must do the necessary legal paperwork for it to become legal and binding and of course it has to be agreed upon by all parties inclusive of the court. I am not sure in all states but their may be prerequisites prior to actually legalizing this type of adoption IE residency etc. Check with your local family courts
and request an Adoption package, kit. or pamphlets
concerning your topic and your rights. Good luck

Depending on how old you are, one of you could get emancipated and then adopted by the other family making you legal brothers. Plus there is nothing saying you guys cannot call yourselves brothers.

Dont know your age. What I do know is that the family next door has more than made up for the notorious deeds that my husband's side of the family has bestowed on us. I think of the wife as a sister in law who I never had....There are no papers, just an understanding between us...She is a good friend and looks out for me in more than his side of the family ever did...

Your parents would have to adopt him for him to become your legal brother.

Have one of the parents adopt, and that will make you brothers.

I suppose your parents could adopt him, but you run the risk of losing your share of any inheritance.
